"Heh... ummm... hi," she said softly.

"Hey..."

Her face was a soft shade of pink. Although she couldn't see him very well other than his feet through the small, barely helpful slits through the closet door, she could imagine what his face looked like right now. Maybe his classic smirk, maybe a smile, or maybe just the awkward look you get when you really don't want to be somewhere.

The silence was killing her. She made a mental note to punch Shane and Mitchie when her minutes were up.

"I'm really sorry, Nate. This is so stupid."

He was quiet for a moment. "Well, I wouldn't say that..."

Her cheeks turned a darker shade of red at those words. She always did wonder what would happen if she was ever in a situation like this. She hoped something good would come out of it, but who knows?

She heard him move around a bit, probably moving shoes around. Mitchie tended to buy shoes... a lot of shoes. High heels, boots, tennis shoes, sandals, flip flops. You name it, she had it.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she got the nagging feeling someone was next to you.

"It's kind of... nice... Don't you agree, Alex?"

She knew he was grinning from ear to ear by the tone in his voice. Her heart stopped at the way he said Alex. Alex. Her breathing picked up as realization hit her, noticing where his voice was coming from.

"U-uh.... Yeah, s-sure...." she said softly, inching over left a bit. Her mind was juggling her thoughts silently. She'd known Nate forever. She knew how big of a flirt he was. She knew what made him tick. She knew what he loved. She knew about that one spot on that full head of hair where there were a few blonde hairs, the spot where he dyed his hair each time it got noticable to him. She knew where he kept his special guitar. She knew all the words to all of his songs, which he kept away from everyone but her.

But he also knew about her. He knew tons of her secrets. He knew more about her than she knew him, most likely. She shivered. But she trusted him.

"Mhmmmm," his voice slithered, his warm breath beating on her right ear. "You know something, Alex?"

"W-what?"

"You're beautiful."

She closed her eyes and swallowed. "You've gone crazy."

"Maybe, but I still think you're beautiful," he cooed in her ear quietly. He ran his fingers through Alex's hair gently, smiling to himself.

"I-I.... T-thank you?" She licked her lips quickly

Nate moved slowly, pinning her lightly to the wall with on hand above her, one still messing with her hair. "You're sweet, honest, whole-hearted, funny, cunning, clever, you always put others before yourself, beautiful, smart.... what else could a guy want?"

"I... Since when do you like me?"

He chuckled a bit.

"Since forever."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Well, I didn't know if you liked me or not. But I know you do, courtesy of Mitchie and Shane."

Alex growled quietly at their names. She was definitely going to thank them later.

Nate chuckled again, bringing her back to reality by brushing index finger across her lips. He could have sworn her eyes were going to pop right out of her head, his eyes had adjusted to the dark. Alex let out a soft sigh, bringing a stretched smile from him.

"God, just kiss me already..."

"Gladly," he stated, kissing her tenderly.

Thank you, Smitchie. [Really, this time!]
