Another product of hanging out and watching Doctor Who with DanaeMariSkywalker. Love ya, mi amiga!

Now I know that Jack wasn't still part of the Time Agency when he was running his "vacation home" scams but I just had to add Captain John. He's so awesome!

"Why would someone even take the TARDIS? Its just a blue wooden box to them!"

"How should I know?! We just need to find it before that mountain decides to blow! Now, I'll head that direction and you go that way. Got it? Good!"

Donna watched as the Time Lord raced around a corner, leaving her standing in a crowd of shoppers.

"Yeah, I got it, spaceman. Don't know why you can't just hang onto your own things. Why do I have to be the one to do it?" she muttered before heading off into the crowd to find yet another thing that the Doctor had misplaced.

~..~

"Excuse me, have you seen a man with a big blue wooden box? He might have come this way in the last half hour? No? Sorry, have you seen a big blue box? Oh. Well thanks anyway."

The Doctor ran his hands through his hair restlessly as he stared around the marketplace. Suddenly he almost fell as someone knocked into him.

"Hey, watch where you're go...oh sorry, my mistake. Are you alright?"

The Doctor stared in shock at the man in front of him. Dressed in a dark blue toga and wearing a wide smile to match was Captain Jack Harkness.

"Hey! Are you okay?" Jack repeated, snapping his fingers in front of the Doctor's face.

He shook himself and nodded. "Yeah I'm fine. What are you doing here?"

"Excuse me? Have we...no I'd definitely remember that amazing hair and those gorgeous eyes. Captain Jack Harkness. And you are?"

The Doctor took the proffered hand and shook it slowly. "John Smith."

"'John Smith' huh? I'm guessing not a local boy then? Not that your outfit isn't screaming Ancient Pompeii with all its heart. How did you get here? Did the Time Agency send you to check up on us?"

The Doctor frowned. "Us? Who else are you here with?"

Jack raised an eyebrow. "You're not from the Agency, are you, 'Mister Smith'. Who are you and what are you doing here?"

"Uh...sightseeing! Thought I'd take in the Pompeii experience before it all disappeared. Eat the food, buy the t-shirt...you know, all the touristy stuff."

Jack nodded. "Of course. And why aren't you dressed to match the rest of the populace? No toga and sandals? Just a pinstriped suit and trenchcoat?"

"Uh...haven't had time to change yet. I will do as soon as I get back though. Nice to meet you, Captain Harkness."

And before Jack could say another word the Doctor had vanished into the crowd. The Time Agent shook his head slowly and stepped into a doorway. "Hey, John? Apparently we've got someone here who shouldn't be here. Some kind of tourist who called himself 'John Smith.' Check up on him, will you?"

"Oh come off it, Jack! This happened last time too! You met a bloke who was claiming that the Titanic was sunk by space aliens and it turned out that he was the alien, what with that blue box-like spaceship! Maybe you'd better come back to the ship. We can have a few drinks and then head back to base tomorrow once everything goes down," an irritated voice squawked from a small device on Jack's wrist.

"Yeah I suppose you're right. See you in a bit."

Jack sighed and pressed two buttons on his wrist device. As he felt the tingling that always preceded teleportation, he grinned slightly. Next mission should be fun. World War II on Earth. Who knew how it would go?

No one noticed the bright flash that came from the small doorway off of the street.
