Summary: It's Easter and Flynn and Ziggy have some ideas...
"So we color eggs?" Dillon asked, staring skeptically at the cups Ziggy and Flynn had set up. Scott and Summer were both gone, having Easter dinner with their remaining families. Dr. K was staring just as skeptically as Dillon and that made him pause; he never thought he'd see the day he and Dr. K would agree on something.
"Yeah, it's tradition," Ziggy agreed with a blinding grin. "And if you write on em in white crayon before you dye em, you get white writing!"
"What about dinner?" Dillon asked, stared down at the table. Flynn grinned.
"Ordered Chinese," he said. "Should be here in about half an hour."
"Chinese on Easter?" Dr. K asked, sounding half amused, half horrified. Flynn shrugged.
"I only make smoothies," he reminded her. "And Ziggy's not allowed near the ovens, remember?"
Dillon snorted, remembering the amount of smoke that had floated out of the garage when Ziggy had tried making some soup. How the green ranger managed to burn soup, Dillon had no earthly idea but the end result had been Scott banning him from the kitchen.
"Who boiled the eggs?" Dr. K suddenly asked and Dillon had a feeling her mind had gone roughly the same route his had.
"I did," Flynn told her. "Boiling eggs is easy."
"Good," Dr. K said. Ziggy pouted for a second before he suddenly surged to his feet.
"OH! The baskets!"
"What baskets?" Dr. K and Dillon asked at the same time. Flynn grinned.
"Easter baskets," he said and the green ranger suddenly popped up with two baskets in black and white.
"What about yours?" Dillon asked, accepting the black basket with a confused frown. Dr. K was looking at his basket in mild amusement.
"Where did you find a black basket?" she asked and Flynn grinned.
"We painted it," he said. "And ours are in our rooms. So is Scott and Summer's."
"This is…very nice of you," Dr. K said, frowning as she poked through the basket. Dillon picked up a lurid pink squishy chicken.
"What is this?" he asked. Ziggy grinned.
"That, my friend, is a peep!" he told him. "Eat it!"
Dillon stared at the chicken, hesitated, then finally bit the head off. His eyes widened and he looked down at the peep in surprise before shoving the rest in his mouth. Ziggy and Flynn hi-fived as Dr. K abruptly dumped all her own peeps in Dillon's basket.
"I can't stand peeps," she told him. He nodded, routed in his basket, and finally grabbed a handful of little jellybeans.
"You want these?" he asked and the tiny woman accepted them with a smile.
"So, eggs anyone?" Ziggy said, bouncing in place. Dillon looked at the table, at his basket, and then carefully moved it away from what he was sure was going to end up a disaster area.
Understanding his worries, Dr. K took off her lab coat and put it and her basket as far from the table as possible without taking it completely out of the room.
"So, we have all the colors of the rainbow," Flynn said, pointing at each cup as he rattled off its contents. "Let's do this!"
An hour and one dye war later, they had two dozen colored eggs in every shade of the rainbow (and several seemingly tie-dyed). Ziggy and Flynn grinned at each other as Dillon took off to his room with his basket in hand. Dillon's first Easter was a rounding success.
