I do not own Tales of Symphonia

The snow had fallen late at night

And the small boy squealed with delight

He wanted to go out and play

There could not have been a more perfect day

His mother smiled and took his hand

On the outside- a winter wonderland

He laughed and played and ran around

And watched as his mom started to make the snow round

Up from the ground a snowman appeared

In the boys mind, nothing could be feared

But in a split second a blast was shot

And the hair around him turned scalding hot

Red snow fell from the skies

The red haired boy could not believe his eyes

His mother lay, bleeding, on the ground

For a few seconds there wasn't a sound

Then a clamor of noises came from beyond

There was a splashing sound from a nearby pond

The attackers where hastening in retreat

They had failed their mission- it was incomplete

"The Chosen is alive" a voice called out

And at that moment there wasn't a doubt

Zelos's eyes widened in fear

He needed to run, his eyes filled with tears

When suddenly a hand shot out at his sleeve

Stopping him from running, not letting him leave

His mother grasped his firmly by this coat

His sapphire eyes spotting the blood on her throat

With her final breath she looked up at him and said

"You should never have been born, you should have been dead"

He cried out and ran as fast as he could

Zelos burst through the doors, praying he misunderstood

The servants crowded him pushing him into his room

And he could only wait and think of the gloom

"You should never have been born"

His heart was now torn

Sebastian, the butler, gave him the news

It was Seles's mother who has started the fuse.

Her fate was to die, and his sisters to be locked away

No one was ever to see the light of a new day

From that day on Zelos understood

That there was no love, no caring, no good

He would trust no one for they would never see

The person that the Chosen truly wanted to be
