Title: Repetition was Tedious

Author: Icarus Redemption

Pairing: Very light KanameXZero.

Rating: T

Warnings: None that I know of. This is very short and a one-shot.

Repetition was tedious. But of course, his life was just a never-ending cycle of repetition, so Zero had learned to accept it. He would wake up to the blinding rays of warm sunshine he once loved as a kid. Well, of course that changed 4 years ago. After rising from bed he would procede to arrive late to class...as usual. Here, he would take a brief nap, smirk at how Yuuki would be caught by the teacher taking a snooze and when school was over, he would be confronted with his guardian duties and of course, arrive fashionably late. And every day at twilight, he would come and walk across those savage cobbles with godly ease. Every day he would glide past him in graceful steps. And here, he would turn. Turn that darn pretty head of his and then…their eyes would meet. Every time, at this split second, Zero would falter and time would still…

...until he would be snapped out of his reverie and forced to divert his attention to an irritated Yuki, who of course would start throwing crude remarks at him about how he was late again. Zero would then turn back around, only to realize that the pureblood was out of his sight again. Now, the girls were gone, Yuuki was gone off to her guardian duties and the man blessed with the features of an angel would be gone too.

And when the clock decided it was time to let the hour arm take another full revolution around once again, Zero would make his way to bed. He would lie on his crisp sheets and reminisce on the past of when he was with Ichiru and of course, ponder over his thoughts of the pureblood and why he was drawn to him so. Inner turmoil would rage about how this man was clearly his enemy and that obviously these feelings were temporary and immoral. He should not have these feelings towards this man. He was from the same ilk as her, the lady that massacred his family. It did not comfort him that he was of the same gender as well. Zero was not gay. But he wasn't homophobic either. But, after all this thinking, Zero would realize he was feeling sleeply. In a matter of seconds his eyes would tire and he would be in a comfortable slumber. He would wake up once again to the blinding rays of warm sunshine he once loved as a kid and forget about the man with the eyes that looked as if they were wholesome orbs smothered in dark chocolate. And then, when guardian duties came along once again, just like all the previous nights, he would remember the man who made him feel weak at the knees.

Yes, repetition was tedious. And Zero hated it so.

A/N: Well, I guess this is not impressive or unique but...how was it? I wanted my first story (okay, it is not really a story) to be short so I won't wind up writing a very long story that no-one would read. Hope you were at least satisfied with the final product. I am sensitive to burning, please do not flame. Give your thoughts and comments on this as well.
