So, yeah, it's me again. This is a story on how Riley got his powers. This is also RileyxCheryl. (Don't blame me on not knowing the name.) They are both about 10 here. Enjoy!

"Cheryl, run faster!"

"I'm trying!" Riley was far infront of her. She was too slow to out run the Mankey behind her. It wasn't long until one grabbed her leg.

"Riley, help!"

Riley didn't waste a second. He sent out his only Pokemon. "Absol! Let's go!" The dark Pokemon fought hard, but it could win due to it's disadvantage against fighting-types like Mankey.

Next thing he knew, the Mankey attacked him. He could of been a goner if it wasn't for a bright flash of light.

"RRRIIIOOOLLLUUU!!!"

Ugh, where am I?

"You're in a dream."

Huh? Who's there?

"My name is Riolu. Who are you?"

I'm Riley. Riolu, what happened to Cheryl? And the Mankey?

"Your friend is okay. I scared off the Mankey."

Wow, Riolu. You're an amazing Pokemon.

Riley opened one bleary eye and saw a small, blue and black Pokemon. "You're Riolu, right?"

Yes.

Riley was surprised. "Did you just talk? How did you do that?"

I talked to you telepathically. It's called aura.

"Wow, Riolu." He just remembered the immense pain in his stomach. He looked down, and saw a large wound.

Here, let me take care of it.

The Pokemon's hand glowed blue, and he touched the wound. When Riley looked down, he was no longer bleeding.

See? Good as new.

Thank you, Riolu, he thought. He then remembered Cheryl, who was a few feet away from him, hugging her leg.

"Cheryl," he whispered. She rolled over and let go of her leg, revealing a wound. He examined it, but when he got closer, she winced in pain. He then felt a weird sensation come over him. He looked at his hand, which was glowing light blue. Maybe this will work, he thought. He lightly touched the wound, and it slowly began to heal. Cheryl slowly smiled, relieved that the pain is gone. She then fell asleep, still tired from running. Riley saw this, and carried her to the Pokemon center.

After Riley and Cheryl were wide awake, they started to talk about where they are going.

"I'm going to go to Eterna City, near the forest. I want to catch some bug Pokemon."

"Really? Well, I'm going to Canalave. The gym leader there said he wanted to talk to me. It's also near that old mine. There's loads of trainers there. Maybe you want to come with me, Cher?"

Cheryl thought really hard. "Nice try, but I'm staying near the forest."

As they were leaving the Pokemon center, they bumped into a small Pokemon.

Are you guys okay?

Riley recognized the baby Pokemon immediately.

"Yeah, we're fine." He replied out loud. Cheryl was very confused. "Riley, who are you talking to?"

Riley ignored her. "Say, Riolu, what would you think of traveling with me?"

Of course!

"Good." He took out a Poke ball, and Riolu jumped in it. "Well, it looks like I have a new friend. See you, Cher!"

Cheryl left, still confused.
