Title: Sweet Sorrow
Author: The Fiction Spider
Summary:A little Kara/Lee add-in for the last ever episode of Battlestar Galactica (depressing, ain't it?)
Disclaimer:I have not, do not and will not ever own BSG. I'm just borrowing the caracters for a minute and will return them in a resonably unharmed (but possable slightly happier) state.
Spoilers: Daybreak, Pt. 2.... well, the whole frakking series actually... I totally stole -uh borrowed- the dialogue.
Genre: Romance/Drama
Rating: K+
Pairings:Kara/Lee (& Adama/Roslin but that's canon :D)
Feedback: I'd love to get it.
Archive: No posting before you asked me please. I'm quite attached to my few stories and demand some sort of visitation rights...
Warnings: It's a bit sappy... (A)
Decication:To four wonderful seasons of Battlestar. To the frustration that was Kara & Lee. We will miss you. You won't be forgotten.
A/N:Okay, me – personally – loved the last epic episode of Battlestar, however the whole Kara/Lee thing let a lot to be desired & resolved (She frakking dissapeared?!?!?! What was that all about!!). Hereby my little drabble that maybe could resolve a little of that slight dissapointment.
Oh, and one last thing: In my defence, this was written at 0230, after watching Daybreak Pt. 2, having had a 13 hour day – consisting mostly of grocery shopping, cleaning the house, spending most of my Saturday afternoon in a meeting & visiting a sick cousing – following a week on little to no sleep. So if it seems like I'm on drugs: it's because my brain practically is, sleep deprivation does weird thing to the mind... Gonna turn in now. Enjoy
Parting is such sweet sorrow.
~ Romeo And Juliet Act 2, scene 2
"I don't have much time, son." Adama said.
As hard as it was for him to let his father go, Lee knew it would come. "I understand," He told his father.
Both men grabbed each-other in a fierce hug, knowing this was goodbye.
Kara bit her lip. She was not gonna cry!
"What do you hear Starbuck?" the Admiral asked as he turned towards her.
A slight smirk appeared on her face. "Nothing but the rain."
"Grab your gun and bring in the cat." She smiled a watery smile and grabbed onto him, tightly hugging him for a few seconds.
"You should go," Kara whispered in his ear, tears in her eyes.
Adama gave her a quick kiss and released her.
"You two take care of each-other." He said, looking at both Kara & Lee. "Promise me you'll take care."
Lee & Kara looked at each-other.
"We promise," Lee said.
Adama looked at his son and the woman he thought of as his daughter one last time, then turned around and walked into the raptor.
Lee wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled Kara close to him. She looked at him from the corner of her eye and wrapped her arm around his waist. Entwined they walked to the front window and looked in.
Roslin weakly lifted her arm and pressed her hand against the window, these two young people who'd come to mean so much to her.
They both lifter their hands in farewell, not letting go of
Roslin smiled.
As the raptor rose into the air Lee kissed Kara's temple. She looked at him. Their lips slowly met.
Adama looked back one more time. The last thing he saw was Kara & Lee, locked in a tight embrace.
He smiled softly. He might not see them again, but he knew. Everything would be alright.
*The End*
A/N: Well, isn't that just a lot more satisfying for us L/K shippers?
