In My Dream I Did This
"Tezuka!"
The stoic captain turned around, recognizing that light, cheerful voice. Fuji was running to him, his normal smile plastered on his face. Tezuka's frown deepened. His smile was just a little different today.
When Fuji caught up to him, he just kept that smile on his face. "Good morning, Tezuka." He readjusted the tennis bag on his shoulder and continued walking forward.
Just a little bit startled, Tezuka walked a bit faster, so the two were walking side by side. Curious by the sudden change in his smile, Tezuka glanced at the tensai before questioning, "Did something good happen?"
Fuji opened his eyes and looked at Tezuka surprisingly. "Eh?" Then he closed his eyes again and smiled once more. "Of course, you could tell, hm?"
Tezuka blinked a few times. He took a deep breath to ask what happened, but then he asked himself wryly if he really wanted to know. After a moment's hesitation, he decided to suck it up and ask, "What happened?"
Fuji turned his head slightly, half looking at his captain. "I didn't know Tezuka was so interested in my actions," he teased.
Tezuka looked away, slightly embarrassed. "You don't have to tell me."
"No, no; it's fine." Then Fuji's smile changed again. But Tezuka wasn't sure if he liked this one better. This one was a bit ominous; one that held a deep, meaningful threat. "I chased Mizuki out of the country in my dream last night," he replied happily, his normal smile returning to his face.
Fuji certainly held grudges for a very long time. Tezuka's stoic gaze faltered for just a second, and he regained his composure quickly. "I...see..."
The two kept walking, slower than they usually did. Then Fuji spoke up again. "But something else happened as well."
Tezuka merely looked at Fuji now, deciding not to ask about the second situation, just in case.
But Fuji cocked his head to the side, "Don't you want to know?"
"...sure."
Fuji smiled brightly and started talking again. "You see, after Mizuki left the country, it gets...blurry, let's call it. But I do remember doing something..." He put a finger to his chin.
"Hm?" Tezuka looked at him, adjusting his glasses.
Fuji grinned. "Ah yes. In my dream, I did this..." And then he reached up and his lips met briefly with Tezuka's.
Tezuka's mind went blank, but when he came back to reality, he found that he rather liked the feeling. The taste still lingering on his lips, he reached down for another kiss.
Fuji was trapped in a daze as soon as Tezuka's lips touched his once more. When they broke apart, they stood in silence for a minute or two.
Then Fuji grinned. "Maybe I should have these dreams more often. What do you think, Tezuka?"
Tezuka, despite himself, smiled a little bit. "...Ah."
