Disclaimer: I don't own the characters.
AN: I'm back everyone! I am SO SO so sorry for the long delay for the next chapter. I was inspired by the announcement of FFVII Remake for PS4! I cannot wait for that to be released. I hope you enjoy this chapter, it was the hardest one I've written so far. Enjoy!
The illegal affair between the two began. Between short texts, Tifa would meet in Sephiroth in his classroom during lunch or after school.
Encounters happened multiple times a week, at inconsistent times that Tifa could not understand.
Having a class with the same man was difficult but got easier as the days went on. She was passive and just kept to herself and completed her work. It was also difficult because Zack was in the same class.
Peer counseling was definitely not a hard class, class time was made up of busy work and waiting for the bell to ring.
However, Sephiroth spent most of the class free time fraternizing with other female students. Even though she hated him, she did not want to believe that she was just a thing to him and that she was being used.
At first, it killed Tifa on the inside to have to be physically involved with him. But as time went on, she has slowly become numb to the situation.
"I fucking hate doing this." The silver haired man mumbled to himself. He hated having to submit lesson plans to the school board to get approval. It was a extremely tedious process to complete a schedule to include all the mundane lessons that do not even 'matter'. He barely followed his own plans. And the fact that he has to do lesson plans for literature and peer counseling annoyed him more.
A knock came at the door. Sephiroth groaned at being interrupted, locking it for that same reason. At first he thought of just ignoring whoever was there but eventually got up.
He was greeted by a certain brunette that he was secretly having sex with.
Tifa was wearing her gym uniform; a white polo, royal blue shorts, and royal blue knee high socks. Her hair was in a high ponytail. The look on her face was that she needed something. At Sephiroth's first look at her in her uniform, he instantly became hard. This was his first time seeing her not in the regular school uniform. Fuck, why does she have to look so cute?
He sighed. "What do you want?" He asked blatantly.
"Can I stay here for a while, you have lunch now right?" She asked nicely. "I really don't feel good and I hate PE." He knew she was referring to the food sickness she caught over the weekend. Apparently her friend Yuffie thought she could cook seafood.
He looked at her again. There's no way I can concentrate with her here.
"No." He said harshly and he started to close the door.
"Pleeeeeease."She grabbed his arm, pleading. "I really don't want to run laps today. I feel like I'm gonna throw up everywhere."
"Not my problem." He countered. "Tell the coach that you don't feel well or something."
"That was my excuse last week to get out of dodgeball." She said regretfully, making a puppy face. "Please?"
He look at where she grabbed him on his arm and sighed. She was actually being nice and he actually felt bad for her. "Fine. But keep quiet." He stepped to the side and allowed her into the classroom. He sat back down at his desk as she took one of the desks in front of him immediately taking out her phone.
Silence fell upon them again.
"Why do work at HoneyBee Inn?" He asked out of the blue.
She looked away from her phone and then at him. "I don't know...easy money...it's kinda fun..." She mumbled.
"But why disgrace yourself like that for money?"
She sighed. Here we go. "Okay, no. Just stop right there, you don't get to do that." She said firmly. "You don't get to lecture me when you are basically exploiting me. So please save your breath." She paused. "This is why I haven't told anyone because I just can't deal with the lecturing. It's not as bad as people would think."
He smirked at her outburst knowing that she was right. "How do you hide that from your parents? Surely, they wouldn't be okay with it?"
"Well, I don't really have parents." She paused. "Well, I do but you see my mother passed away a few months ago so I live with my father now but I never knew him growing up so it's just an awkward situation." She crossed her legs. "He doesn't really know me and barely even talks to me to be honest so I am able to just do whatever I want which is the total opposite of when I used to live with my mom."
"So why do you live with him?" He asked. He never knew her home situation.
"When my mom died, it was pretty sudden and legally, it got messy." She muttered. "I wanted to live with my mom's sister but she already has two kids. She could only take me or my sister, Marlene. She's young so she deserves to stay in Nibelheim."
"Nibelheim? The town in the middle of nowhere?"
"Hey! That's my hometown." She playfully said. "It is in the middle of nowhere though." She chuckled. "I used to farm and ride horses. It was boring but I loved it." She paused. "You know before moving here to Midgar, I've never even left Nibelheim in my life. Moving here was my first time."
"I'm sorry to hear that." Sephiroth said sarcastically and then chuckled.
"Shut up." Tifa said, laughing at his remark. She noted the time she started her new life in Midgar.
"How much longer do you think?" Tifa asked the taxi driver. The long ride was making her anxious. She never been outside of her hometown and all the sights around her were giving her anxiety.
"Just about 3 minutes ma'am." He replied. She nodded, while she looked out the window. The driver turned down a separate road that was separated from the city. After a short drive, they ended up in front of the biggest house Tifa had ever seen in person.
This is where I am going to live? In this mansion? She said to herself. The driver stopped the car and brought her luggage from out of the trunk. She paid the taxi and he went on his way. She took a breath, now feeling nervous. She was about to meet her father for the first time. She didn't even know what he looked like or if he even knew what she looked like. Her legs felt heavy and her head hot.
She walked to the front steps and rang the doorbell. She's never felt so much anxiety in her life.
The door opened and there was a middle aged women who answered the door.
Wait, didn't he live alone?
"Oh I'm sorry, I think I have the wrong house-" Tifa blurted out until she was interrupted.
"Oh my god you must be Tifa." The women said ecstatically and gave her a huge hug. Tifa didn't know if she should hug this mystery person back. "Lemme get a look at you...yeah, you have his eyes."
"...Uhh..." She awkwardly smiled.
"Oh pardon my manners, I'm Caroline. I'm your father's housekeeper. He's really busy so he doesn't have time to watch the house." Caroline stepped to the side and let Tifa inside.
"Nice to meet you Caroline." Tifa said. "Does he live here alone?"
"Yeah, he does but he travel's a lot for his job-" She was interrupted by someone entering the living room.
Tifa looked at the man and he walked towards her. 'Yes, we do have the same eyes...'
This was the first time ever seeing her father ever. She dreamed about this event for years. A smile came across her face. "Hi..I'm-" She said nervously.
"Tifa." He stated, then brought her into a hug. She felt tears form in her eyes. 'I finally meet you.' He separated from her looking at her appearance. "You look like your mother." He stated. "I'm sorry I couldn't make the funeral or any meetings with you with my attorney. I was barely in Midgar the past month."
"It's okay. I'm sure you are busy." She reassured him. She couldn't wait to talk to him, for him to know who she is. She wanted to know him as well. She never felt glee like this before.
"Anyway, I have to go to the office now for a meeting. Pick any room you want upstairs. Caroline, make her dinner, okay?" Caroline nodded and he left through the front door.
Tifa stood there in disbelief that she finally met her father and she was written off so easily.
Little did she know, that was maybe the longest conversation she would have with him.
Caroline took notice of Tifa's change in mood. "Oh dear, I'm sure there will be another time to catch up on things." She said. "Let me help you with your stuff. Oh and we have to register you for your new school."
"So you transferred here in October?" Sephiroth asked.
"Yeah." She sighed. "Transferring to a new school in the middle of the year is not fun. I definitely wasn't looking forward to it."
"If it makes you feel any better, I hate this place too." He added.
Half of her lip curled into a smile. "Why are you even a teacher? You seem to hate it." She questioned. His class was easy because he simply does not care and is not a hard ass like the other teachers. He was always known for doing the bare minimum. She stood up and walked over to his desk.
"That information is confidential, Lockhart."
"Confidential? How is that confidential?" She said annoyed and grabbed the eraser and wiped off the stray marks on the whiteboard. It was bothering her.
"I see you're starting with your daily dose of being very irritating." He rubbed his temples.
She rolled her eyes and put the eraser down and leaned against the whiteboard behind him. "I just don't understand you...one second you treat me like I'm nothing and the next you..." Tifa sighed. She didn't know how to complete what she was stating.
Sephiroth looked at her. "I what?" He asked while he got up and faced her. I'm never going to finish these lesson plans.
Tifa hesitated. "You want me...you text me out of the blue to come here and...well, I don't have to explain the rest."
"...I have a feeling that the feeling is mutual." His tone was low. He was getting tired of her pointing the finger at him as if she wasn't enjoying their affairs too.
"It isn't." Tifa was firm in her voice. "You think I would be in this situation if you weren't forcing me to? I don't know if you forgot but I still hate you."
"If you hated me so much, you wouldn't be choosing to be here with me right now, alone." Sephiroth replied as he diminished the distance between them.
She thought of a response. "...Means to an end. I hate P.E. and you have an empty classroom."
"Your 'excuse' to miss your other class is just another excuse to be here in the same empty classroom where I do dirty things to you." He stated as his hands trailed up her thighs. "that you love."
Her face turned red as she looked away. "No, I endure it." she defended. Her hands tried to push his away but her attempt was in vain.
"I don't think you were enduring it on Tuesday when you begged me to go harder." He grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him as he leaned in and gave her a chaste kiss. "But keep telling yourself that." He let her go and sat back down. "If it makes you sleep better at night." He added.
She let out a sigh of relief, happy that he stopped with his advances. "I have a boyfriend Sephiroth." Her words reeked of regret. "It feels wrong to do anything with him."
"It's better that way anyway." He quickly added.
"Yeah, for you." Tifa countered. She turned away from him.
He simply looked at her and smirked. "Guess I'm selfish for not wanting to share."
She turned back around and looked at him. He had beautiful green eyes, she admitted. They were filled with desire.
She swallowed. His intense stare made her uncomfortable even though they've been involved many times already.
"You're acting like a little girl who has never been the subject of someone's desires." Sephiroth said amusingly. He went back to the document on his computer.
"I just like to choose who I sleep with, that's all." Tifa spat back. She was passive.
"Save me the I am holier than thou speech, Lockhart."
"Well before you basically forced your dick into me-" Sephiroth rolled his eyes. "-I have only been with two guys."
He raised a brow. He would always assume Zack was the only other guy she slept with. "Fair being one of them. Who's the other? Genesis?"
She scoffed. "No. Genesis wishes."
He was curious now. "Then who?"
She slightly smiled and slightly hesitated.
"Cloud Strife." Tifa answered.
AN: Hey guys, I hoped this chapter came out enjoyable and readable, that was my biggest concern and the reason this took so long. Once again, please leave a review if you have the time. It is greatly appreciated.
