Holy moment!
My first Sonny With A Chance-oneshot!
Of course, it sucks. :3
Abby, welcome back!
Automatically, his eyes moved to the lunch table across the room. The people from Chuckle city were having fun, bright smiles were on their faces. Quickly he diverted his gaze to his meal, because it hurt to see them like that. Next to him, Portlyn was rambling something uninteresting. Absentmindedly, he played with the food on his plate.
He hated it all. How much he wished to eat that crappy food, instead of the steak in front of him. How much he wished to sit there, instead of here.
How much he wished to be on So Random, instead of on MacKenzie Falls.
"Looks like Chad Dylan Pooper lost it." Nico laughed softly. Sonny and the rest followed his glance, and saw how the cocky, annoying actor was staring at his food. A frown played on Sonny's face. Why wasn't he eating? Or insulting the cast of So Random?
Chad looked at Portlyn, and then he stared at his food again. Deep inside, Sonny felt worried. But she didn't want to admit that. And so she threw herself back in the conversation, and ignored the need to watch the guy behind her.
"I can't believe So Random is still on, I mean, nobody can possibly enjoy those horrible sketches, right, Chad?" The two casts waited for him to respond, but all he did was shrug, and mumble something. "What was that?" The same guy asked him, raising an eyebrow.
"I said, they're not that horrible." Chad mumbled, again. And everyone gasped.
Sonny's eyes were huge, did the Chad Dylan Cooper just admit that So Random was good?!
Portlyn burst out in tears. "My man is turning soft!" He glared, silencing her.
At the other table, there was panic. "What the hell just happened?!" Tawni asked, shocked.
They all shrugged. "The guy's going mental!" Grady whispered back.
Sonny didn't listen, something was definitely going on.
It was silent. Deadly silent. The whole table was staring at Chad. He rolled his eyes. "Come on, it's not that I just killed someone." No answer. He sighed. "Is it so hard to believe that I like a sketch from So Random?" Everyone in the cafeteria turned to him. "YES!"
He shrunk back. "Is it so hard to believe I'm not a jerk?" Once again: "YES!"
Chad glared at the people on his table, who had answered Yes, too. They coughed and looked the other way. "Gee, thanks, guys." He said, and got up. Before he walked out of the cafeteria, he threw his steak in the garbage can.
Before the others even realized it, Sonny was gone after him.
While he walked, his hands in his pockets and his eyes on the ground, he wished everything would change. He wished to be someone else. Chad Dylan Cooper wished, and he wasn't afraid to admit it. Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder.
He turned around, and saw how Sonny Munroe, the new girl, smiled at him.
"I don't believe you're a jerk." She told him, and kissed his cheek.
His face turned into a smirk, automatically. "I was acting." He replied, and she looked hurt.
Deep inside, he cringed, but didn't show it.
And so she walked away.
Leaving the Chad Dylan Cooper alone with his thoughts.
Because wishes don't come true for everyone.
Tataaaa.
