"My best friend back in high school told me once that after three months it's time to shit or get off the pot." DG said with a sage nod. There was an air of uncertainty about her as she sat on one of the garden benches.

"Your friend had a way with words." Glitch's eyes glittered with amusement as he took a seat beside his friend.

"Yeah, she did." DG smiled but it didn't reach her eyes.

Glitch's expression sobered and he wrapped an arm around DG's shoulders. "You should tell him."

"You think so?"

"Yeah. And if he doesn't return the feeling it's his loss." He gave her shoulder a light squeeze and when she opened her mouth to say something, he cut her off before she could get a word out. "Smartest guy you know, remember?"

DG turned and hugged him. "Looks like now I'm forgetting."

Glitch patted her back and pressed a kiss into her hair.

"Glitch?" DG looked up at him.

"What do you need, doll?" He looked back with gentle eyes.

"If he doesn't…"

"Then you should check and make sure there aren't any zippers hidden on him." The expression he wore was earnest and sure.

She touched his cheek. "Thank you."

Get off the pot.

She leaned up, coming slightly off the bench and kissed him.

"Oh!" Glitch blinked when she drew away.

DG smiled a small and self-deprecating smile. "Yeah."

"Me?" Glitch's eyes darted searchingly over her face.

"You." Her hand was still warm against his cheek.

He reached up, his fingertips ghosting over the back of her neck and causing goose bumps to rise on her skin. He opened his mouth to speak, but closed it again with a puzzled frown.

"What?" DG felt her stomach drop.

Glitch was silent for a moment that spanned for annuals to DG. When at last he did speak, a rather lopsided grin graced his features. "I think maybe I need to check you for a zipper, DG."

DG hit him lightly on the chest. "Don't do that!" The sick dread feeling was easing though as that grin broadened. "My synapses are firing just fine," she said firmly.

"DG…" He shook his head, still smiling.

DG took his face in her hands to stop him. His expression finally started to sober.

"DG,"

"Yes?"

"Are you sure?"

DG gave him another light kiss. "Pretty positive." And then his lips caught hers and she smiled against his mouth.

Every one of Glitch's nerves seemed to sing her name. His senses filled with her; how her lips hummed softly against his, how she was so warm in his arms, how she smelled- not flowery, just clean…. He drank in every detail, wanting to remember forever. He almost broke the kiss to ask DG if this was real; that he wasn't glitching and she was kissing him and she wanted him of all the men in the O.Z.. Almost. DG kept him close, her lips assurance against his doubts.

After so many years in darkness, now she was embracing him. Light.
