The bright blue lightning was headed for me. I was too scared to move. My whole life was literally flashing before my eyes. It was half way toward me. I heard myself saying, "I'm coming mom,". I don't want to die.

I see Zuko running towards the lightning. He yelled "No!" But I knew he was too late.

ZRAAACKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!

"NO! KATARA!" I keep on hearing that. All I can feel is pain. All I can hear is Zuko yelling…and me screaming. I can smell burn skin; I know it is mine.

There is a large pink/red scar on my chest.

"Katara! Stay with me! Oh, you better stay with me!" Zuko yelled. I realized he was holding me up with his arm. I didn't feel it though.

"Hahahahahahahahaha! Ha ha!" I heard Azula laugh.

She's crazy.

"A---zula………." I muttered. "Y—ou…..ha-have to…ge—t h-her."

"I know, but I can't just leave you!" Zuko yelled.

"I-I'll be fine." I said, barely about a whisper.

"I wish I could believe that." Zuko said, more to himself than me.

I saw from the corner of my eye a blast of blue flame coming towards us.

I screamed and buried my face in his chest. Zuko blasted the fire away and went into battle with Azula.

The last thing I remember is was being picked up by Zuko.

Aang___

I jumped off the airship and ran to Zuko.

"Hey! Zuko, how did the fight go?" I asked.

All Zuko did was shake his head. I wonder why?

I looked around him, no Katara. "Hey Zuko? Where's Katara?"

His eyes grew wide, but then shut, he pointed a finger towards the infirmary.

I looked at where he pointed, I read the sign, "INFIRMARY?!" I yelled.

"NO!" I screamed, running as fast as I could towards the infirmary.

By instinct, I knew where to go, I could just tell. I ran into the room and the girl I love was laying on the bed, under covers, with a pained expression on her that I have never seen before. Nor did I want to.

I ran up to her and stroked her cheek. She was fairly warm but getting colder. He couldn't help, he didn't have any spirit water…

Or did he…

He looked around the room and noticed a barrel of water. He bent some water onto his hand and concentrated. He sent spirit energy into the water from his hand.

He opened his eyes in shock when the water started to spin and glow.

HIS PLAN WORKED!

He pulled the covers down enough to show the scar and he lifted her head up. He placed the water onto the scar and it glowed.

Aang waited and soon enough he heard…

---cough---cough-----

"Katara!" Aang shouted as her eyes opened slightly.

"A---aang?" Katara asked, whimpering from the pain.

Aang too was crying, but in joy that Katara was okay.

"D----did we win?" Katara asked.

"Yes,--sniffle--, yeah, we did." Aang said.

He pulled her into a big hug.

Katara___

Weren't we just fighting, isn't Aang supposed to be fighting Ozai? How long have I been out!? I think I was unconscious the whole battle. Wait, who won!?

"D----did we win?" I asked. 'Man! My voice is scratchy!'

"Yes," Aang said sniffling, "Yeah we did,"

He pulled me into a hug.

Oh man, his arms are warm, he's rubbing my back.

"How you feeling?" Aang asked, still rubbing my back.

"I-it hurts." I admitted.

"I know, shhh, I know," Aang said, he is being really nice.

"H-how did y-you get through this? I-it hurts so m-much." I said.

"It's gonna hurt for a while, just be strong." He gave my back a gentle pat and pulled away.

I looked at him for a minute before speaking.

"Thank you," I said.

"No big deal, I would have done ANYTHING to make sure you were okay." Aang said.

"I…….I love you….Aang." I said, blushing, despite my condition.

Aang's eyes got big.

"I love you, too,"
