"Without you, the grass grows…" Lucy Weasley hummed as a shiver tingled up her spine with excitement. Molly had already gotten on the Hogwarts Express, and soon Lucy would too- for the first time ever. She turned to her father, Percy, whose glasses were slipping down his nose. He pushed them up as he looked down at Lucy with a smile crinkling the corners of his eyes.
"Now, Lucy, I know there are so many worries you have about Hogwarts, but really, there's nothing to-"
"Daaaad. I'll be fine! I'm not scared at all." Lucy grinned up at her dad, glancing at her mother, who seemed close to tears. "Mum, what is it?"
"My- my lastborn child is actually going off to Hogwarts!" Audrey buried her face in Percy's chest, tears leaking out of the side of her eyes.
Lucy rolled hers and stretched her neck, craning to see anyone else on the platform from her large family or somewhat 'extended' family. Her reddish-brown hair got in her eyes and she brushed it away, standing on the balls of her feet and bouncing up and down. "Mum, Dad, I see Uncle Ron and Aunt Ginny and Miss Luna! I'll be right back!"
She raced off without bothering to listen to a reply, her black-shoed feet tap-tapping against the cement as she flew to where her relatives stood talking animatedly. Her uncle Ron's hand was intertwined with Lucy's aunt Hermione's, she noticed, and saw as Aunt Ginny smiled up at Uncle Harry. Dreamy Miss Luna and the ever-patient Mister Rolf whispered in their twin boys' ears and sent them off running towards Lucy, their own grins broadening their new-experience faces.
"Heya, Luce!" Lorcan laughed. Lysander nudged his twin in the side with his elbow, adding, "Hello, Lucy. You ready to finally go to Hogwarts?"
Nodding, Lucy giggled and watched James, Scorpius, and Rose, who were talking quietly to each other. Hugo and Lily were tagging each other on the arm and running at top speed to get away from each other. Albus stood looking nervous, but brightened and walked over to Lorcan, Lysander, and Lucy. Lucy snickered again as she realized what a tongue twister their names were, all the L's with a single A. "Of course, you guys. Hey, Albus!"
Albus Severus smiled and punched Lorcan and Lysander in the shoulders, commenting, "I know I'm excited," as if he had been there when Lysander had posed the very question he was inadvertently answering.
The train let out a long, shrill whistle. "Oh my God, it's practically time! Tell your parents I said hello, I've got to find mine again-"
Lysander stopped her short. "Don't worry, I've already said goodbye to my parents, I'll go with you." The two ran though the crowd, weaving in and out until they spotted Lucy's parents, positively sprinting to get to where they stood waiting, worried looks etched on their faces. "We, can't, miss, it," Lysander puffed, racing with Lucy to Percy and Audrey. He finally skidded to a stop in front of the visibly relieved parents, grabbing hold of Lucy's hand to stop her from crashing into her own parents.
Kissing them on both cheeks, "Bye Mum, bye Dad! I love you; see you Christmas holiday!" In turn, she grabbed Lysander's hand, now, and pulled him onto the train-ramp a fraction of a second before the whistle blew again. As the train chugged out of the station, she waved frantically to her parents, turning to smile at Lysander. "Thanks, Ly. Let's go in now."
