Please don't hate me :'(! I know it has been forever since I updated and I truly apologize. I think I was scared to write the final confrontation between Voldmort and Harry because I have seen first hand how that can ruin a story, which caused severe procrastination on my part. I hope my take on it does just to the story.
Again, don't hate me but...this still isn't the last chapter, as much as I would like it to be. Thankfully the next chapter will be the epilogue and is already partially written.

The three Death Eaters and the silent Gryffindor walked in silence through the forest for a good fifteen minutes before Harry felt himself becoming confused causing him to halt his steps. Without a word, Lucius shoved him forward again making the boy stumble and fall again. McNair hauled him up and pushed him forward but Harry was able to stay on his feet this time, although he now limped. Within ten minutes he saw a dark building appear in front of him and his confusion left him. The Death Eater that had stayed silent during the trip, walked up to the door and knocked rapidly three times. About a minute later, the door opened to reveal Narcissa Malfoy.
"Cissa, gather the rest of the Death Eater and bring them to the main chamber. I have brought a prize for our lord." smirked Lucius.
"We have brought." snarled McNair, but Narcissa merely sent him a cool glance before eyeing Harry.
"I'm sure he will be quite pleased dear. This is exactly what we need to be in his favor again." remarked Narcissa, stepping aside and letting the others in. "I will have the rest make their way there quickly, everyone has already arrived for the meeting." The three Death Eaters swept past her, pushing Harry in front of them as Narcissa closed the door behind them.
"I'm sure you haven't forgotten I hold your wand Potter, so I suggest you don't try anything funny." snarled Lucius, grabbing a hold of Harry's arm as they reached a set of large double doors.
"Bugger off Malfoy." spat Harry, looking Lucius defiantly in the eyes. Lucius glared at him as the other Death Eaters opened the doors, and then he was thrown into the room with quite a bit of force, making him hit the ground and roll to the center of the room.
"My, my, my, haven't we been a busy boy Harry Potter." slithered the voice of Tom Riddle from some place in front of where he had landed.
"You know what they say, 'idle hands are the devil's workshop'. smarted Harry, standing up from the floor, favoring his left foot and facing the man, if you could call him that, that was sitting on a large throne dais.
"Did you really think crossing the one man who could save you was the best choice, Harry Potter?" asked Tom as he stood up.
"Save me?" spat Harry, giving Tom a glare. "That man is no saviour."
"Ah but you are, are you not, Harry Potter." replied Tom Riddle as he made his way off the dais slowly and Harry could see a large amount of Death Eaters entering the room in his peripheral vision. "The Saviour of the Wizarding World, The Chosen One, The Boy Who Lived."
"Eh." replied Harry, trying to shrug his shoulders as nonchalantly as possible. "Not the most imaginative titles, are they? Then again, I wouldn't have any of them if it wasn't for you. If you had just been able to kill the itty bitty baby, I wouldn't be standing here today, now would I?" Harry barely registered Tom raising his wand before he was writhing in pain on the floor.
"How dare you!" snarled Tom, releasing the spell.
"How dare I?" spat Harry gasping for breathe. "How dare I? Do you think I wanted this Tom? My life destroyed because of you and Dumbledore?" yelled Harry as he got to his feet again. "I didn't want anything to do with it! None of my family did!" At that comment a manic cackle filled the air.
"Ah yes, because that freak of a family of yours is so special." Harry knew he probably shouldn't look away from Tom, but that voice...he had only ever heard that voice in his memories. Thankfully, Lily Evans made it easy for him and walked into his line of sight.
"You!" snarled Harry, making to step towards her.
"Ah, ah, ah, Potter. I suggest you stay right where you are." taunted Lucius, grabbing ahold of his wrist to hold him in place.
"Yes me!" claimed Lily pridefully, the crazy look Harry had always associated with Bellatrix overtaking her face. "Quite clever wasn't I Potter? You don't honestly think I would die for you would you? After all the trouble I went through to get you killed? All the sucking up I had to that rat Pettigrew to make sure he went crawling the Dark Lord. James was to be mine! Not that sleazy Slytherin's, mine. After I heard that prophecy it wasn't hard to figure out who it was talking about and the rat was so easy to turn against Sirius and James that I never even had to meet with the Dark Lord. I just had to be sure to be gone when he arrived. It was the perfect plan, until it was ruined that night by you blasted offspring." snarled Lily, fury replacing the crazy look briefly before the maniac smile came back. "But I knew he would be back and I knew I would get my revenge." All through her speech Harry had stayed silent, but his body shook with fury. When she finished he stared at her a moment before turning to Tom.
"You really are quite the hypocrite, Tom. All that rubbish about blood purity and yet you let a muggleborn stand beside you?" asked Harry, trying to get himself under control, but the question made Tom's eyes narrow.
"She does not stand beside me as she is not my equal. No one is my equal, not even Dumbledore was." snarled Tom in anger before calming his face. "No, after your little show the other day she requested an audience with you. I must admit, I was curious myself. All those wasted years mourning a mother that was never really yours, knowing she played a part in the destruction of your family, only to come face to face with her before your death."
"My death, Tom?" asked Harry, cocking an eyebrow at the red eyed wizard. "Getting a little ahead of yourself aren't we? I mean, it was supposed to be my death at birth right? Then again in 1st year, but that didn't work either, did it? Fourth and fifth year, I admit you came close but once again you failed. What makes your think this time will be any different?" Again, Tom raised his wand but this time Harry had counted on it. While questioning Tom, Harry felt his wand begin to slide into his hand from Lucius sleeve as the older man held on to his wrist. As soon as the curse was fired both he and Lucius dove to the side, the curse clearly missing them. At the action, all the Death Eaters in the room went to draw their wands but the double doors burst open as Order members, Aurors and teenagers rushed into the room, casting spells as they went.
All hell had broken loose around them then, a large number of Death Eaters getting captured in the surprise attack, but Harry and Tom only paid attention to each other as spells and curses left their wands without a word being spoken. Ron and Narcissa had immediately made their way towards the dais trying to help keep the rest of the fight away from Harry and Tom and join Lucius who had been dueling with McNair and the third Death Eater that had arrived with them, who turned out to be Lestrange.
Soon a powerful dome shaped shield was erected around Tom and Harry as they fought, enclosing Lucius, Narcissa and Ron as they fought one on one with McNair, Lestrange, and Dalhov as well as the dais at the front of the room. Remus quickly realized that those left on the outside were not going to be able to pass through when Remus threw a Death Eater with into the shield and seemed to be electrified. Hermione could only compare it to a bug getting caught in a bug zapper, before he fell to the ground twitching.
Hermione and Remus shared a quick look before she gave him a curt nod and worked her way through the fight. Quickly, she and Remus were able to spread to their allies to stear clear of the field. Everyone took heed to the warnings as a few more Death Eaters, either on purpose or accidentally, found themselves learning the dome shaped shield's secret the hard way. However, so caught up in their own battles, none of those fighting outside the shield realized what was going on inside the shield until many Death Eaters clutched their arms in pain, giving those fighting against them the very brief opening they needed to disarm and bind a majority of the remaining Death Eaters.
With the burning from his mark, Severus had been amongst those to be distracted and Lily, who had never taken the mark and therefore did not feel the effects, took advantage and fired the killing curse at him, her hate for the man that James had chosen overriding everything else. Severus saw the green before his mind registered the curse being said and he knew that there was no way he was going to be able to dodge quick enough. Immediately his eyes slid to the dome that held Harry and Voldemort, looking for his son in what he thought was his last moments, when he felt himself slammed to the ground. Looking up he saw a flash of green light pass above the head of James Potter.
"Sev?" He asked worriedly but all Severus could do was blink in surprise but that seemed to be enough to assure James he was alive. "That bitch!" growled James, climbing off Severus while letting loose a string of unspoken, but powerful spells at Lily who, being caught unawares by James' immediate action, was thrown to the ground, her wand rolling away as she writhed in pain. Severus could see that James was quickly losing himself as everything the red headed witch had ever done to him rushed forward, all else being forgotten.
"Potter, stop!" hollered Severus, rushing over to James as he threw a binding spell around the witch right and then threw his arms around the other man, holding his arms down. However, despite his arms being restrained, James was still effectively throwing various curses at the bound witch. "James!" growled Severus directly into the man's ear. "You need to stop. Think of Harry. He still needs you. He still needs us." Severus felt the curses being cast by James becoming scattered. "Come back to us, James. Come back for Harry." whispered Severus, not even sure if the man could hear him in the battle going around.
"Harry." repeated James, the curses finally stopping as he gasped for breath. "Merlin Severus, I…" trailed off James as he stared at the unconscious form of the red headed witch until he finally looked at Severus. "Harry, where's Harry?" he asked, reminding Severus again of that which had distracted him and releasing James he glanced at his arm where the Dark Mark had burned moments ago. Both he and James looked at the damaged mark, now marred with blood and welts, and then looked at each before turning to the dome that had held Harry and Voldemort.
"No." Whispered James at the sight before him, rushing towards the dome but Severus stopped him before he actually touched it.
"We can't Potter." said Severus, his eyes holding the same desperate look as he stared at those inside the dome. "We can't."
Harry gasped for breath as he landed on his back with a thud, Riddle immediately following him, pinning him to the ground as he held his wand to his temple. Harry looked around to see where his wand had rolled to after he hit the ground.
"You just don't know when to give up, do you Potter?" sneered Riddle, raising his body up off the boy, but still keeping him pinned to the ground. "You can not kill me Potter!" hollered the Dark Lord, manic glee obvious in his voice.
"I know, but then I was never supposed to was I?" asked Harry with a smart grin, making Tom narrow his eyes and tighten his hold. "Come now Tom, has your memory really been failing so badly in your old age? Why don't I give you a refresher." With that, Harry did the one thing he thought he would never do; he possessed Tom Riddle. He felt Tom stiffen above him, but his hold didn't loosen.
Harry started to dig through Tom's memories, searching for the one that mattered. He could tell when he reached the ones when Tom was a corporeal form as they were very vague, filled with random moments. Most of these moments revolved around Harry, vague memories of the story of the Boy Who Lived that were printed in the prophet or overheard as he was discussed in the streets. Harry pushed on further knowing he was getting close to that night as he felt himself come up to barriers in Riddle's mind as green flashed around them.
"What's the matter Tom? Don't like the memory of when an infant bested you?" snarled Harry. "Well to bad. Because of that manipulative bastard I don't remember exactly what happened that night either so lets remember together, shall we?" With everything Harry had, he shoved against the barrier until he felt it break and he was standing in the bedroom he had had at Godric's Hollow but this was very different from how he had remembered it in third year.
"Move aside Bellatrix. This does not concern you!" commanded Voldemort, while Bellatrix Lestrange stared back at him defiantly.
"No. They are infants, they are no threat to you."
"But they will be." snarled Voldemort, throwing a curse at Bellatrix who blocked it quickly.
"On whose word? A muggleborn raving about some idiotic prophecy? You can't be serious?" taunted Bellatrix as she glanced back at one of the cribs as it erupted in sobs from the child within.
"No." came a shocked reply next to Harry causing him to look over at Tom Riddle standing beside him, shock on his face as he watched the memory with him.
"Just know noticing that are you?" smirked Harry, before turning back to the scene.
"I will not tolerate such insolent behavior from one of followers." cried Voldemort right before he cast the killing curse on one of the cribs.
"No!" Screamed Bellatrix, trying to throw up a shielding charm as well as throwing herself between the curse and the crib, knowing the shielding charm wouldn't be enough. The bright green light enveloped Bellatrix and the crib before disappearing. The crying from one crib got louder as Voldemort watched Bellatrix crumble. Slowly, Voldemort walked up to the crib and peered in, but the infant boy was not moving in the slightest so he turned towards the crib that the screams were coming from. Looking down he saw the infant girl and with a snarl, he raised his wand and cast the killing curse on her and the spectators in the room saw the green light engulf the crib before bouncing back on Voldemort. With a scream, the green engulfed Voldemort and suddenly the body was gone and the two could see the corporeal form hovering where the body used to stand before shooting out the door. Tom walked slowly to the crib and looked down to see watery onyx eyes staring up at them.
The room dissolved suddenly, but even as Harry was pushed out of the memory, he kept hold of the link he had made in Tom's mind. Anger burned in Tom's eyes as his knuckles turned white as he gripped his wand tighter.
"There were two of you!" he cried.
"Long time no see, Riddle." came a voice from behind him, causing Tom to look over his shoulder in shock, red eyes meeting onyx seconds before the sword of Slytherin was plunged into his back, sliding completely through until Harry could see the tip coming through Tom's stomach. Immediately, Toms' corporeal went to leave the body he was presently in but only when he couldn't disconnect from it completely did he seem to realize the hold that Harry had on him.
"Noooo!" he screamed, fighting with all he had to make Harry break the possession of him.
"Yes!" growled Harry. "It is over Tom. It may not be by my hands, but you die tonight!" With that, Alexandria plunged the sword in further, twisting it some, making the Dark Lord howl in pain before setting his steely gaze on Harry.
"I die, then you die too, Harry Potter." snarled Tom before you let his arms give out and fell ontop of Harry with all his weight.
"Ah!" groaned Harry, pain engulfing him as he tried to not break his hold on Tom as he felt the tip of the sword that had been sticking out of the Dark Lord's stomach stab into the lower part of his chest. Briefly his eyes met Alexandria's over his shoulder and he shook his head slightly at the worried look in her gaze. He felt Tom put as much weight as he could on Harry, making it hard for Harry to breath as he tried yank his corporeal form free of the the body he was in. Harry locked eyes with Tom again, steely determination hardening his gaze.
"So be it Tom." he whispered before he fully possessed him again, making Tom's body twist so that the sword that was buried in him caused more damage. Harry felt his own body start to weaken, the thought briefly crossing his mind that maybe that sword tip had done more damage than he originally thought but felt panic set in in Tom's mind as the last of dark wizard's life force whittled away. With the last burst of power that Tom could muster, he tried to throw Harry's hold off but the sword had already caused too much damage and was no match for the clenching hold that Harry had.
Finally the body above him sagged onto him with a dead lifeless weight as the link that Harry had vanished completely. Harry closed his eyes and searched for his link to Tom; the part that he could always feel lingering in the recesses of his mind, no matter how much he tried to block himself from it, but it was gone. Tom Riddle was gone. Opening his eyes he looked at Alexandria with relief.
"It's done. It's finally over." he said, suddenly feeling lightheaded.
"Oh Harry!" sobbed Alexandria, noticing how pale Harry's face had gotten. Quickly, she pulled the sword out of Tom's body and tossed the weapon aside before she rolled the once Dark Lord off of her brother. It was right as another person seemed to slide up next to Harry that she noticed that the blood spot seemed to grow steadily on Harry's shirt.
"Harry, mate, it's going to be okay. I got ya." murmured Ron who was immediately ripping open Harry's shirt and casting diagnostic spells.
"It's over Ron. It's finally over." murmured Harry, turning his head to the red head but not seeming to really be able to focus on him.
"Not yet Harry. I still need you to fight a little longer." Ron told Harry, but Harry's eyes seemed to roll into the back of his head as his breathing grew raspy. Ron looked up to see Lucius and Narcissa standing off to the side, the Death Eaters they had been dueling bound and stupified. "I need a knife." said Ron desperately at the two adults before glancing around, noticing that even though Tom was dead, the shielding dome was still erect, stopping any help from the outside.
"Here." said Lucius, pulling out a blade from his boot and coming to sit kneel next to Ron as Narcissa kneeled towards Harry's head. Ron took the blade with slightly shaking hands, his watery eyes meeting Lucius' gratefully.
"I need your help." implored Ron as he looked at all three of them.
"Anything." replied Narcissa and Ron nodded his head, his mind a whirlwind.
"The sword severed some major arteries that need to be healed but the main issue is that he cracked his ribs and one has punctured his lungs. I need to get inside to heal the damage."
"Inside?" repeated Alexandria.
"Yes, inside. Lucius, I need you to clear away all the blood on his chest." instructed Ron and he cast a scorgify on the blade in his hand. "Alexandria hold his head in your lap, tipped to the side slightly. He will be coughing up blood so I need you to get rid of it as soon as it comes up or he will choke on it. Do you understand?" Alexandria nodded her head and took her place, setting Harry's head on his lap and, noticing the blood that was already starting to leaking out of, did as she was told. "Narcissa, Lucius, this is the messy part. I have to reserve my magical core for when I reached the damaged parts so I need to get in without magic. Lucius when I cut, I need you to hold his skin back firmly. I don't know a spell that can do it so you'll have to do it without magic, can you do that?" Lucius nodded his head and then moved to straddle Harry's legs. "Narcissa, when I cut him open I need you to clear away the loose blood so that I can see what I am doing. Only the loose blood. Okay?" Without a word Narcissa moved to Harry's side so she was kneeling across from Ron. Ron raised the knife to Harry's chest, pausing only briefly to look over Narcissa's shoulder and he saw the anguished looks of Sirius, James and Severus as they looked on helplessly. His eyes then found Hermione and Ginny as they held each other tight with worry, but as he met Hermione's eyes she gave him a determined look and nodded her head with conviction.
Looking down at Harry again, Ron took a deep breath and then started the incisions on his chest. He pulled back the skin and as he did so and Lucius reached up and held them back as Narcissa cleared away the blood steady, as it was steadily coming out of the arteries. Ron reached in to the one that seemed to be losing the most blood and placed his hand over it, letting the white glow shine brightly for a moment before moving on to the torn tissue and muscles, completely missing the look of surprise shared by Narcissa and Lucius.
"Narcissa, I need you crack these bottom three ribs, as clean as possible." instructed Ron without looking up and Narcissa did so without hesitation. As he moved them out of the way, she reached out and held them up for him. "Thanks." he whispered and they could all see the broken rib that had punctured Harry's lung now. Ron pulled out the rib bone just as Harry's body seemed to start convulsing. Lucius immediately altered his position so as not lose his hold on Harry's skin with his bloody hands, but also so that he could try to hold the boy as still as possible as it convulsed.
"Bloody hell." swore Ron, his hand covering the damaged lung as he closed his eyes, letting the white light became extremely bright for a couple of seconds longer than the other healings had taken. Ron pulled his hand away, his breathing getting heavier from the exertion of the magic he was performing. Just as he was about to set Harry's ribs back into place, the raven haired boy got completely still.
"His heart." gasped Narcissa. "It stopped beating."
"No, no, no." murmured Ron in a worried tone as Narcissa shifted her hold so that Ron could get to Harry's heart. Shimmering light filled the area around them and looking around briefly the three assisting Ron saw that the Dome was finally losing its power. As soon as it came down completely Severus and James rushed forward and knelt on either side of Alexandria, Fred knelt down next to Narcissa and Sirius immediately went to Ron's side. The redhead seemed oblivious to this though, his hands wrapped around his best mate's heart as he manually pumped it to resuscitate it while the white light signifying his healing magic filling the area, nearly blinding those around the body.
"Come on mate." muttered Ron quietly, though the hall was so silent everyone in the chamber probably heard him. "It's not over. It's just beginning, remember. Come on, Harry. It's your turn now, but you have to fight this one last time. We can't lose you...we can't." drifted off Ron, not letting his healing magic dwindle as exhaustion could be seen creeping up on him.
Alexandria looked up at Ron, the sheer determination on the redheads face as tears fell down his cheeks made her heart ache and she might have reached out to him if at that moment Harry's body hadn't jerked as he gasped for breath, coughing up blood at the same time. Immediately, Alexandria cleared it out and even though her brother didn't open his eyes, she could feel him breathing again. Looking down at his chest, she watched as Ron's hands, still casting the white glow, deftly moved away from the now beating heart and down to the cracked ribs that Narcissa released, allowing him to mend the broken ribs back into place. Narcissa moved to remove any lingering blood that did not belong before kneeling back on her feet, resting her bloody hands in her lap.
"From top to bottom, Lucius." remarked Ron wearily and the others watched as Lucius slowly released the skin of Harry's chest, the pieces loosely falling back into place as Ron's hands followed, mending the muscle and skin back together, leaving only the faintest of scars. Once completely healed, both Lucius and Ron sat back, Ron leaning a bit against Sirius. Another episode of coughing erupted from Harry, but this time he seemed to pull himself up a little bit and roll onto his side. As soon as the coughing subsided, Harry raised his eyes to meet Ron's.
"Ron." said Harry roughly, the immense gratitude clear on his face.
"Welcome back, mate." responded Ron with a grin before promptly fainting in Sirius arms.
"Ron?!" exclaimed Sirius, worriedly, shifting the limp body so that Ron was cradled across his chest. Remus quickly came forward and ran some tests over him.
"Is he okay?" asked Sirius with worry.
"I think so. It seems like his magic core is practically non existent though, he has drained it badly." remarked Remus, relief evident in his voice as he looked at Harry, who had closed his eyes and lowered his forehead to the ground at Remus' proclamation. "We need to get him and Harry to Pomphrey quickly though, just to be sure."
All those that had surrounded Harry stood up, Ron securely held in Sirius' arms while Alexandria and Fred helped Harry stand up. Together, they slowly walked Harry out of the room, Sirius following closely behind with Ron and all the others trailing behind them. Order members and Aurors alike stept to the side to let them through solemnly. There was no cry of jubilation, no celebration at the Dark Lord's death, just quiet respect as the adults watched as the children that had sacrificed their childhood to protect their world were led from the room.
Please review! I promise, just one more chapter and it wont take me nearly as long to update!
