"How about we just…not and say we did." Dean started to walk away and Sam grabbed his arm to stop him.
"Dean, come on. I mean, it's not like it's going to hurt."
"Yes, it will," Dean said a giving the building in front of them a wary look.
"Oh, what…is it going to hurt your manly pride or something?" Sam said with an amused smile.
"Hey, that's not something to joke about okay? Besides…can't we go somewhere else?" Dean cringed slightly knowing that that had almost sounded like whining.
Sam tried not to laugh at how much this was getting Dean worked up and took a second to compose himself. "Uh, no, there is no where else. And besides…I know it's going to drive you nuts until you get it done. So…"
Dean looked between the building and Sam and then back again as if he were afraid it might jump out and bite him. "But…"
"Excuse me." A burly man in a flannel shirt and work boots pushed past the two brothers making them pause in their argument and then headed for the door of the offending building.
Sam held out a hand as if to prove his point. "See. Nothing to be worried about."
Dean just looked at him and Sam finally let out a frustrated sigh and frowned. "Look. Do whatever you want. I'm going in there."
Dean opened his mouth to say something but Sam cut him off. "I'll catch up to you later." And then he was through the door.
Dean just stared after him for a moment and then cursed slightly before finally opening the door with a huff. After his eyes adjusted from the bright light of outside, he saw Sam standing at the counter talking with a cute brunette. As he walked up to the counter, he tried not to look to weirded out by how at ease Sam was with this.
"Glad you could join me," Sam said under his breath as he fought hard not to smile.
"Yeah, whatever," Dean mumbled back and then gave the girl a dazzling smile. "Hi, I'd like to get a haircut."
She returned his smile and then looked down at her book. "Yes, I think we can squeeze you in."
Dean kept his smile plastered on even though he kind of died inside. "Great."
She looked at her book a moment longer and then out at the floor that seemed filled with women chattering and getting their hair done and then back to the boys. "Okay, great, I think Randy will be ready for you in just a moment," she said looking at Dean.
"Randy?" Dean said letting his smile fall as he noticed a man in a pink shirt standing towards the back, the burly man from before sitting in his chair getting his hair cut.
"And, I think Ashley is ready for you." She motioned for Sam to follow her and both boys looked to see a rather buxom blonde waving Sam towards her chair.
Dean's gaze narrowed and he glared at Sam who was trying desperately not to laugh. "I hate you."
Then Sam couldn't help but laugh.
