AN: So…this chapter just happened :O I'm as surprised as you are! I had just decided to give up on this story when I got sick with the cold and my barely functioning brain pieced this together. It's not betad so I'm sorry about the mistakes in it, but I don't really care, I just want this story to be done, to have it out of my life and not feel it's weight on my shoulders. If you notice any mistakes I'd be happy if you pointed them out and I might correct them.

Chapter 3. Which failed…

The following the day was literally all but pleasant. Allen was the first one to wake up as the sun was too darn bright for its own good. He slowly sat up on the bed burying his head in his hands feeling a headache that was like a hammer to his now alcohol damaged brain.

"Ow, it hurts…" he whispered to himself trying to get up from the bed but something was in the way. His grey and still tired eyes shot up wide and confused ignoring the burning sunlight. What he saw was the last thing he expected. There he was lying in a bed that was not his, in a room that was not his and he feared the worst. Kanda's room? Yes, it was most definitely Kanda's room. The plain and non-exciting decorations told him so.

Not only that but Kanda himself was sleeping in a sitting position on the floor, with his back leaned against the bed while holding Mugen in a loose grip. Next to Kanda was Lavi, just as much asleep as Kanda, but he had his head resting on his arms on the bed. Which in Allen's tired eyes looked a little more comfortable.

"Waah…" Lavi suddenly yawned but keeping his eyes closed as he was still half sleeping. "Is that you, Allen-chan?" someone was obviously not as confused as Allen was.

"What the hell happened…?" He laid back on the bed again, Allen was too tired to care about the bad thing about waking up in Kanda's room.

"You…lost…" Came Lavi's mumbling reply.

"Lost?" Allen thought. "Lost what?" Using the few brain cells the alcohol had spared from destruction he managed to remember the drinking contest. He groaned, "Darn it…" He also remembered how he never found out Kanda's weakness. He probably didn't even have a weakness, it must have been a lie from Lavi to give him a reason to be at that stupid party. He blamed the peer pressure and swore to never give in to it again and to never drink again. "I hate you, Lavi." Allen closed his eyes hoping wishing that he could magically disappear or at least that the headache could.

"I know you don't." Lavi said tiredly but with confident.

And he was right. Allen sighed. "Right now I do."

"Yeah, yeah." Lavi didn't care, he knew it was impossible for others to hate him. Having Kanda as his friend was proof of that.

Speaking of Kanda.

"Be quiet. I'm sleeping." Kanda hissed from his uncomfortable position on the floor.

"Yeah, yeah…" answered the two boys in unison.

Five minutes later Allen decided he had had enough of Kanda's hard bed and impersonalized room. "I'm outta here." He stated while swiftly getting out of the bed and head out of the room before anyone, read Lavi, could stop him.

"Wait! All-" Lavi was too late, Allen had already made his way into his own room and slammed the door behind him.

"Too loud." Complained Kanda.

"It's your fault he left." Lavi gave Kanda an evil look.

"How is it my fault?"

"Oh, I'll tell you how!" Lavi's usual energy returned to him as he stood up confidently while pointing at Kanda. "Because you're too mean to him."

"So?" Kanda didn't even care enough to look at Lavi.

"Oh, you ungrateful little piece of-" Lavi mumbled to himself, but without bothering to lower his voice much. "Here I was, kind as I am," Kanda rolled his eyes to that but Lavi ignored it and went on. "I was trying to get a confession out of Allen, I thought if he was drunk he would reveal his true feelings for you. Yeah! Even the God of Love himself would be jealous of my powers!"

Kanda couldn't believe what he just heard. He just stared at the red headed idiot before him. "What the hell?" He obviously questioned the sanity of his "friend".

That "friend" obviously misunderstood him. "But thanks to your psychopathic self it didn't happen."

"Again, what the hell?"

"Man, you really need to extend your vocabulary!"

"Oh, screw-"

"Be quiet!" Lavi spoke with such force Kanda actually listened. Lavi turned his head towards the open door of Kanda's room and listened carefully. He could hear the sound of running water. "Ah, Allen's in the shower. Good, that means we can talk in private." Lavi sat down on the floor again. "We have a problem."

Kanda didn't say anything but the look he gave Lavi indicated he was curious about what this problem was.

"I like Allen too." Lavi spoke in all seriousness.

Kanda's expression didn't reveal much emotion. "What do you mean "too", who said anything about me liking him? Why would I even care for such a idiotic bean sprout?"

"Oh, Yu…" He shook his red head in disbelief. "You do know you actually did tell me you liked him, that time you slept over you know?"

"No." the reply was harsh. "You must have misunderstood, I probably said "I'd like to kill him" or something."

"We both know that isn't true. Anyway," Lavi continued before any more denials could interrupt him. "I'm pretty sure Allen likes you too, hence the partay yesterday but as that failed I think we need to just go and ask him."

"What do you mean "we"? I couldn't care less."

Lavi had anticipated Kanda to be like this and there was only one way to make him understand the seriousness of the situation. And therefor he raised his fist and quickly punched Kanda in the face. As it was so sudden, and he was still very much hung over, Kanda didn't react in time and got hit right in the jaw.

"What the heck?!" He yelled before leaping forward to take revenge at his attacker.

"Well you deserved it!" Lavi yelled back while avoiding Kanda's bad attempts at landing a punch. "You need to take this seriously or I will take Allen from you, we all know how loveable I am, he will totally go for me!"

"No, he won't!"

"Ah, so you do admit your feelings?" Lavi smirked and evaded yet another reckless attack.

"That's not…what…I said!" Kanda stated between his failing blows towards his friend.

"Actually, it's exactly what you said." He took a firm grip of Kanda's wrists to prevent him from continuing the fight. "And you have to accept it!"

Kanda looked away. It was true that when Kanda was around Allen he had this weird urge to get his attention, which he usually did get by being an ass and get on Allen's nerves.

"So unless you want me to kiss his sweet face every day you need to man up, accept your feelings and come with me to ask how he feels."

Kanda still didn't look at him. "So… uhm…" this was all really awkward for him. After all, Kanda wasn't used to having emotions, unless it was pure anger or hatred, he had plenty of that. "I mean, why would you tell me this, why not just go and ask him out yourself?"

Lavi sighed, but with a smile upon his lips as he let go of Kanda's wrists. "Because you are my friend. Besides, you liked him first." He stood up. "C'mon, let's go!"

"What? Right now?" Kanda looked almost terrified.

"Yes, no reason to wait any longer."

"Alright," he sighed and stood up ready to face his fears. "But you confess too! I'm not gonna be the only one getting humiliated!"

"It's not humiliating."

"Too me it sure as hell is."

"Yeah, you're right." Lavi laughed as they made their way towards Allen's dorm room.

The door was closed but Lavi felt the doorknob and happily discovered that it was unlocked. The two boys quietly stepped in, the shower was still on but this time the door was actually locked, much to Lavi's disappointment.

"Hey! Allen-babe! We need you out here!" Lavi called while banging on the door.

The sudden loud knocks on Allen's bathroom door surprised him and if he had to admit it, he almost slipped. "Can a man never get any piece around here?" He thought to himself as he regretted his stupid decision to live in a dorm. "Lavi, please, I'm in the shower, I have a headache, my stomach hurts and the world is just too bright and it's all your fault." Allen whined. "Can you please wait…like an hour?" He suggested and prayed to the devil that Lavi would even give him two hours.

"Sorry, no can do!"

Kanda tugged at Lavi's arm. "We can definitely wait." He said.

"No we can't." Lavi explained to him. He knew if this didn't get out know Kanda would never again admit that he liked Allen, and he would certainly never agree to confess it. He knocked on the door again. "Really Allen, I'm sorry but it can't wait."

"Of course it can't." Allen whispered to himself and turned off the shower. He took a towel and wrapped it around his waist and another one to put around his shoulder. We all know how cold it can be to get out of shower and open the door to the outside world, the word without the warm and comfortable shower steam. With a deep breath he braced himself for the cold and opened the door. "What?" He shot an evil glare at Lavi. Then he noticed Kanda and gave them both a questioning look. "What happened to your face?" The question was directed to the bruise on Kanda's jaw.

"I hit him." Lavi explained and Allen nodded in agreement, made perfect sense, he wished he could hit Kanda too from time to time. Lavi then nudged Kanda in the ribs. "Tell'im why we're here!"

"No way! You tell him!" He crossed his arms as he turned away and pretended to spot something interesting in the window.

"Alright," Lavi's turn to take a deep breath, confessing was harder than he had imagined. "So, truth is…" Allen looked at him impatiently. "We both like you!" Lavi blurted out.

Allen stared from one another with disbelieving eyes. "This is a joke right?"

"No." Lavi spoke more confidently now as the truth was out there. Kanda just continued to stare out the window. "You have to choose between us." Lavi explained.

Allen took a few seconds to think through this situation. "So you like me?" He looked at Lavi who nodded. "And Kanda…too?" His eyes wandered to the longhaired psychopath who still refused to give them any attention.

"Yes, he likes you too," Lavi spoke for his socially awkward friend. "He's just too much of a jerk to say anythin'." He gave Kanda another nudge in the ribs, a little harder this time.

Kanda's cheeks turned a slight shade of red, if it was because of embarrassment or anger, we will never know. But he nodded in approval of Lavi's words.

"Wow…" Allen was close to speechless. He sat down on his toilet, this was too much to process while standing.

"And I know you like Kanda so…" Lavi spoke while making a bad attempt at hiding his disappointment over the matter.

"What?" Allen cleared is throat. "I mean, how?" There was no point in him denying anything when these two had the courage to confess and all.

"I dunno, I just know these things, it's like a secret power I have."

"Well…" Allen looked over at Kanda who was still averting his eyes. "It's true I like Kanda…" he revealed with a voice that sounded as if someone had just uncovered his deepest secret.

Hearing this Kanda flinched slightly and for a brief second he looked over at Allen to assure him that the white haired shorty wasn't lying to make him seem like a fool. Allen looked dead serious.

"But…" Allen spoke the dreaded word causing the two boys to pay extra attention. "Something must be wrong with your powers Lavi," Allen smiled weakly. "As they didn't pick up that I actually like you too."

A few seconds of silence passed.

"You mean…You like us both?" Lavi asked in utter shock. Something really must be wrong with his powers.

"Yeah…I cannot choose between you two. So I made a deal with myself to just stay friends with both of you."

Lavi's jaw dropped. Kanda's lips turned into a thin line.

Another few seconds of complete silence.

"You!" Kanda pointed at Allen, his hand shaking in anger. Oh, how he wished Mugen was here with him. "You can't expect me to come here and make a complete fool of myself and then carry on like nothin' ever happened just because of some idiotic deal you made with yourself!"

Both Allen and Lavi stared at him with big eyes.

"Well, how about a three man relationship then?" Allen suggested casually.

"I'd be cool with that." Lavi admitted just as casually.

"No way! No fuckin' way! I am not, I repeat NOT, involving myself with that rabbit!" His finger now dramatically pointing at Lavi.

"Well then we have problem." Spoke the rabbit. After a few seconds of serious thinking he got an idea. "How about sharing? I have Allen on weekdays and you have him for the weekends?"

"Hey! I am not a kid and you are not my divorced parents." Allen protested loudly from his seat in the bathroom.

"Aww, that's too bad, I woulda been a great daddy, Allen-babe!" He smirked and gave Allen the thumbs up sign.

"Sounds terrifying."

"Hey!" Kanda landed a punch to Lavi's shoulder. "You forced me to take this seriously and now you're jokin' around. What the hell man!"

"Ah, sorry! Can't help it, jokin' is in my nature." He rubbed the sore spot on his shoulder.

"Well, how about," Allen stood up from his seat and reached for the bathroom door. "You solve this, while I finish my shower?" And without waiting for approval he closed and locked the door. A few seconds later the shower was running again.

"That went alright." Lavi put his hands behind his head and walked out of the room.

"Alright? In what universe is that considered as alright?" Kanda followed him.

"Well, he was almost naked after all," Lavi smirked. "I mean, didn't ya see that wet, hot body of his?"

"You're sick!" Kanda hit him on the head before turning into his room to hide the blush that was creeping onto his face at the thought of Allen.

Later that day, as the three boys had almost been cured of their hang over, they gathered in Allen's room to solve the situation. Kanda and Lavi seated upon Allen's bed as Allen himself, as the British boy he was offered them a cup of earl grey tea and some biscuits before taking a seat on a chair opposite of the two.

"Don't you have any green tea?" Kanda asked as he looked at his cup with suspicious eyes.

"Shut up or get out!" Denying earl grey was like an insult to the tea, Allen himself, and the whole Great Britain.

Kanda gave him a quick angry glance before averting his eyes to the look out the window instead. It's like it was a new hobby of his, watching the trees as the leaves fluttered in the wind.

Lavi took a sip from his cup of tea. "Thanks, Allen! This is really good."

"Of course!" Allen agreed. "So how do we do this?" He asked while grabbing a handful of biscuits and showing them in his mouth, one by one.

"Well," Lavi started thoughtfully. "It's really you who are the problem, I mean, how can you like two people at the same time. Or rather, I understand how one can have feelings for me, since I'm so awesome and all, but," he made a dramatic pause while glancing over at his dark haired friend. "How can you like Yu-chan?"

Upon hearing his first name together with that suffix he hated so much he ditched the window view and turned to Lavi. "Shut up!"

Allen smiled broadly and clasped his hands together. "What's not to like, he's tall, handsome and ah, that long hair flowing in the wind." The other two just stared at him with wide eyes and open mouths, Kanda even looked like he wanted to throw up a little. Allen quickly replaced his smile with a completely serious face after his fangirl imitation. "I am joking." He assured them. "How should I know why I like a complete idiot like him, it just happened." He sighed.

"Fair enough." Replied Lavi.

"So, how come you fancy me?" Allen felt a little nervous asking that kind of question so he tried to distract himself by drinking some of his tea.

"Oh Allen-chan, it's that cute and innocent personality of yours. Plus your face, I like that shit."

Allen unconsciously brought his hand to his face wondering what was so good about it, dull grey eyes and old looking white hair.

"But out of me and Yu," Lavi continued. "Yu have liked you the longest, and the intention of last nights disaster was to make you guys confess to each other so I suppose it's only fair that I step aside." He finished his tea, and put it aside as he got up from his seat. "I'll leave you two alone for a bit. No fighting."

But before Lavi left the room he leaned in close to Allen's face, hesitating only a second, before pressing their lips together for quite the passionate kiss. Kanda cleared his throat loudly to remind them that he was still present and that they better stop or someone would end up in the hospital.

Lavi broke away and smiled one of his sweetest smiles. "Cake crumbs." He explained.

"Right." Was all Allen could say as he felt a blush coming on and tried his best not to show it. That had in fact been his first kiss, and he didn't have anything to but wow, was Lavi a good kisser. It wasn't too rough, nor was it too gentle, and his lips were just unbelievingly soft.

"See ya!" Lavi gave them a salute before exiting the room, closing the door behind him.

Kanda and Allen felt too awkward to even look at each other. This was worse than oral presentation in school, and the constant silence didn't make it any easier. If this were to go anywhere Allen knew he had to take the initiative, because Kanda sure as hell wasn't, he was way too proud for it. And with proud, Allen actually meant he was way too stupid.

So to be the better man here, Allen took the courage to get up from his seat and sit down next to Kanda instead. "So…now what?" He asked looking to the embarrassed man beside him.

"How the hell should I know?"

Allen sighed, this was not going to be an easy relationship. "Kiss?"

"Ew. No."

"Huh?"

"I'm not touching what that rabbit has soiled."

"I see…" Another awkward silence. "Holding hands then?" He held out his hand towards Kanda and was surprised to see Kanda actually take a hold of it.

"Whatever." Kanda replied with his head turned towards the window again.

Allen was sure the other man was just trying to hide the emotions his face was possibly showing. And Allen let him be, he closed his eyes, relaxed and leaned closer to Kanda. "This is nice," he said quietly. "Finally some piece and quiet."

"Yeah." Kanda agreed.

Meanwhile Lavi was instantly regretting his decision to step aside. That kiss had been so much more than he had expected and Allen was just too cute to let go of.

"I really am an idiotic rabbit…" He sighed burying his face in his hands. "Well, how long can those to last? I'll have Allen in my bed before the end of this semester." A wicked smile formed upon his lips as he started plotting how to win Allen over to his side as soon as possible.

THE END
