My first attempt at writing slash - probably horrible, but there's so many AM stories here that I wanted to give it a go!
I don't support Arthur/Merlin, even if it is rather cute ;)
"Good luck in the tournament tomorrow," Merlin said quietly, his eyes downcast. "Even though I wish you'd..." He cleared his throat. "I'll be here first thing in the morning, to help you into your armour." He turned, ready to leave the room.
"Merlin," Arthur called as his servant made to leave the room. Merlin took a step back, slowly turning to face the prince.
"Merlin," Arthur said again, staring at the floor. "Do you really think I'm going to die tomorrow?"
Merlin hesitated. "Yes," he finally replied. "Please, Arthur, just pull out!"
"I can't," Arthur responded loudly. "But, if I am to die tomorrow..." He took a few steps towards Merlin and raised his head. Their eyes connected, and their breathing suddenly became more rapid.
"Merlin, I - I love..." Arthur stopped, averting his eyes and shaking his head. "Oh, never-"
A pair of lips caught his in a kiss. Arthur closed his eyes in surprised bliss, placing one hand around Merlin's waist while the other reached up, grabbing hold of Merlin's raven hair.
There was a loud knocking on the door. "Sire!"
Uther's head shot up. Quickly, he dropped his quill and rolled up the parchment that he'd been writing on. "Yes?"
The door opened a crack, and one of the servants glanced around it. "Sire, the tournament is about to start."
"Do you think I'd forgotten?" Uther said slightly coldly. "I was just about to go down."
The servant nodded nervously before shutting the door.
Uther sighed, glancing at the roll of parchment in his hand."You really should stop writing things like this," he told himself as he bent down, removing a loose floorboard and placing it amongst the many other scrolls lying there. "Arthur and his servant are simply that."

What really happened that night...
Arthur undid Merlin's neckerchief, throwing it to the ground. Their lips parted slightly; Merlin grinned and knelt down, beginning to unbutton Arthur's jerkin.
"Merlin," Arthur moaned, burying his face in the younger boy's hair. "No one - no one must ever know this happened."
Merlin pulled off Arthur's jerkin and let it drop at their feet. "Save it for tomorrow," he teased, reaching up and kissing Arthur again.
