I wrote this in a hurry, but it wouldn't leave me alone...so yeah.
I do not own any turtles (mutant or otherwise) and I do not own T'was a Night Before Christmas....I'm just playin' around!
T'was the night
before Christmas and all through the lair,
Not a mutant was
stirring. No, they wouldn't dare.
Four stockings were hung, not by
the chimney...they had none.
But Father made sure a candy cane was
in each one.
The boys were sleeping soundly in their own
room.
A few candles in the hall chased away any gloom.
I sat
with my tea and tried to unwind.
To try and find sleep, to rest my
tired mind.
My eyes fell to our poor little tree.
Decorated
with love...by my boys and me.
Under it were four packages, none
were brand new.
But wrapped with colors of orange, purple, red and
blue.
My thoughts now broken by the door swinging wide.
A
fat, old man had wandered inside.
I jumped to my feet, fur raised,
cane high.
To let this intruder know he couldn't get by.
The
man smiled wide and he gave me a wink.
I was frozen in place, I
couldn't even blink.
This couldn't be...no this was not right!
He
gave a deep chuckle, he was not here for a fight.
I let my
guard down as I watched him walk in.
Red suit, white beard and a
warm, friendly grin.
He sat his bag down and he rummaged
around.
And he gave another chuckle at what he had found.
Four
more packages wrapped with bright ribbons and bows,
He knew they
were good this year, yes he always knows.
He tapped his chin and
said, "Let me see."
And dove back into the bag, laughing
with glee.
He took out another box wrapped in simple brown.
He
said it was mine as he set the box down.
I mumbled a thank you, my
eyes still wide with shock.
He said, "No need for that."
as he turned our door lock.
He faced me now with a twinkle in
his eye.
I raised my hand quickly to wave my goodbye.
He said,
"Remember Splinter, Christmas is for all of God's creatures,
And
I do not discriminate because of someone's features."
I
nodded in agreement, a tear on my cheek.
For a wonderful moment I
did not feel like a freak.
"Merry Christmas dear
friend...take care and have cheer,
And tell your boys to be good,
I'll be back next year."
