This is my first ever fan fiction. Enjoy!

"Oh dear honey, why aren't you wearing the hat I gave you?"

Galinda (now Glinda) was startled by her grandmother's comment, she hadn't thought of that dirty old thing for months. It brought back bad memories.

She only had to deal with this for 2 more hours until her parents got back from shopping, and then they could put up with her. Thinking of something quick to tell her grandmother, she said, "Grandma, my roommate needed a hat to wear for a party, so I gave it to her." It was the partly true, well, maybe.

"Well, that's alright my dear, and I glad. But to wear that hat out in public now, what a humiliation that would be! I hope your roommate has some sense."

Wearing that hat anytime in public would be a humiliation if people weren't scared of you thought Glinda. But curious to why her grandmother would say such a thing, because she was the one who bought the hat! "Why is that grandma?"

"Well my dear, because of that drat old Wicked Witch of the West! She goes flying around with a hat just like that now, doesn't she my dear? You wear that hat and people will be yelling that the Wicked Witch is here! I do hate her for ruining that style of hat, oh dear! I feel so bad for whoever's hat that was before she got it."

Glinda burst out laughing. Grandma gave her an evil eye. "What's so funny?" she declared. Glinda didn't answer. Understanding dawned over Grandma when she looked over at the letter she was holding her hand, in which one line stuck out, "My roommate, Elphba, is so nice and fun, but I have to get her a new wardrobe! It will be hard though, because hardly anything matches with her green skin."

"You mean that your roommate was the Wicked Witch and you gave her my hat!" she screeched loud enough to make the glass goblets in the next room shatter.
