Here's a rather short oneshot I wrote during Chemistry. Hope you like it.

Allergy Information: Boys who like boys. Language. A glimpse of angst. Uhh. I think that's it.

Axel met Demyx's icy glare with a hurt gaze. How could the musician accuse him of being unfaithful? Even with his reputation of sleeping around-- that was before he met Demyx-- he would never intentionally cheat on him. Especially not with his best friend!

"Demyx, baby, I wasn't--"

"Was I not good enough? After I gave you my fucking virginity, you slept with Roxas?"

"Demyx, I didn't--"

"Then what the fuck was that? Because it looked to me like you were naked in his bed!"

"Look, okay, I was drunk! So I made a mistake! If you'd calm down, I could expain it!"

"Just because you were drunk doesn't mean you should have slept with him!"

"He looked like you!"

"Yeah, only four years younger and half a foot shorter!"

"You're one to be talking! You flirt all day with Zexion!"

"You know I would never cheat on you," he whispered dangerously.

"I thought you knew the same!" Axel ran a hand over his face wearily. "Demyx, I'm sorry. I wasn't myself. And if I could go back to last night, I never would have even gotten drunk. But I can't. I made a mistake. I'm sorry, Demyx. I'm sorry."

"Ax, I don't know how to trust you again…"

Axel sighed. "Yeah, I know." And then he walked away.

"Axel…"

--imlisteningtorentandsingingobnoxiously--

"You know, Axel, Christmas is coming."

"Yeah, Rox?"

"What are you getting Demyx?"

"I think I'll get him a promise ring."

"Isn't that a bit… er, feminine?"

Axel smiled. "He'll appreciate it. Trust me."

"He still mad at you?"

"Mad? No. He's not spoken to me in weeks."

"…I'm sorry…"

"It isn't your fault. He's stubborn."

"…yeah…"

"He's convinced I meant to sleep with you-- and I might have, if it weren't for Demyx. But, Rox, I think I love him. I would never cheat on him."

"I know, Ax." Roxas sighed. "What are you promising him, anyways?"

"Take a guess."

--andimmeetingapotentialgirlfriendthisweekend--

Axel knocked tentatively at Demyx's door. Bouncing nervously, the redhead pulled his coat closer around his thin frame.

The door opened, blasting him with almost unbearably hot air. The blonde looked half-alive at best: he was too skinny, too pale.

"Um, hi, Demyx-- wait, don't--" Axel stuck his foot in front of the closing door. "Just… let me talk to you…"

Demyx crossed his arms and stood impatiently in the doorway. "You have five minutes."

"Dem, are you sick?" Demyx blinked at him, startled. "Your voice. It's hoarse."

The blonde blushed and avoided eye contact. "You're down to four," he mumbled.

"Okay, I know you don't really want to see me. But I missed you." Axel held out a simple, silver ring. "It's a promise ring. As long as you wear this, I'll only be with you."

"And if I don't want it?"

"Then I walk away and let you live the rest of your life in peace."

Demyx groaned. "Why do you have to make everything so complicated? I can't just… Axel… I don't want to see you again… but at the same time, I don't want to let you leave…" Demyx let a few tears escape his eyes. "I hate you… but I love you…"

Axel caught him as he fell. His lanky arms held the quaking body close, welcoming the warmth. While Demyx sobbed, the redhead kissed his temple.

"I love you, Demyx," Axel whispered. That only made Demyx cry harder. He slipped the ring onto one of Demyx's fingers, smiling into blond hair as the shaking stopped.

"Promise?" Demyx whispered hopefully.

"I promise."

Yay for clichés! And the AkuRoku oneshot is on its way, but I left my old notebook in my locker.
