Just a One-shot made out of a mere thought. Enjoy! ^_^
Why Are Stars Above Us?
The night was calm, soothing, and very cold. The breeze was slightly blowing. The ship, known as the Merry Go, was waiting. Waiting for her little nakama to wake from their slumber, but for now she slept as well. The watch post was being occupied by a swordsman, who was on watch duty. His green hair was the most noticeable thing about him, besides the fact he fights with three swords. This swordsman was sleeping, curled all up into a blanket.
With a slight movement. A shadow appeared out from the corridors. He was a skinny fellow. Always happy and bringing joy to anyone around him. His outfit was the usual. Red vest, jean shorts, and sandals. Without his straw hat made him look odd, but it probably fell off.
He exited the door panel into the cold night. A shiver went down his body, from head to toe. He slightly looked up. With a grin plastered on his face, making his scar, under his left eye, curl up with his face expression. He threw the blankets over his shoulder. He stretched his arm up to the mast to the watch out. This was usual for the boy. Always stretching his rubber arms wherever. Well, he could do that only because he was Captain and his nakama respected him.
Once snapping up and landing carefully on the ledge, he climbed into the little area. He looked down to his first mate. He gave a warm smile. He grabbed the blankets from his shoulder and started to lay them onto him. He usually did this. He would laugh when his first mate awoke, confused. The Captain finished what he was doing and was about to leave, when a hand grabbed his wrist. He turned to look.
"Luffy, what are you doing up?" Luffy smiled.
"I was afraid Zoro would catch a cold." Zoro wasn't really asleep, since he wanted to catch the culprit.
"Don't worry about me… where do you get these blankets anyways?" The first mate asked.
"They are mine… but that's not important." The Captain was about to leave, but was yanked down and pulled into the blanket. "Zoro!"
Zoro wrapped the blanket around both of them, holding his Captain in between his legs, wrapping around him. "Its cold… Stay." He whispered.
Luffy sighed and nodded. Why would he want to leave anyways. It was warm and comfy. His eyes wondered up and looked at the stars. He breathed out a warm breath.
"Why are the stars above us, Zoro?" He patiently waited for his answer.
Zoro wasn't sure how to answer. "Why don't you ask Robin tomorrow?"
Luffy shook his head. "I want Zoro's answer."
Zoro sighed and looked up. "Well, you see, all the stars are watching us…"
"Watching us?"
"Yes, watching us… When you look at the stars your deceased loved ones are looking down over you. As if they are watching. Making sure your safe."
"So, if I were to die, would you look at the stars…?" He looked at Zoro. Zoro looked at him and smiled.
"I would… but," Luffy looked a bit disappointed. "your right here, looking at them with me… and you won't leave me… right?" The first mate looked down at his Captain. The little Captain giggled.
"I would never leave Zoro! As long as he didn't leave me alone, either!" One of his goofy grins appeared and Zoro smiled.
The swordsman lightly kissed the little monkeys head and said, "I would never leave you alone."
With no words said for the rest of the time, they slept soundlessly. The swordsman holding his captain in his arms. Snuggling together for warmth. Right under the bright stars.
What you think? I know nothing like my other stories, but hey! We all can't have perverted stories all the time! Hehe, well R and R! Thanks bye-bye!
