This is a oneshot and takes place after The Kill which is the final book of the Forbidden Game trilogy.
I own none of these characters they are the fabulous creation of L.J. Smith
It had been a long year for Jenny Thornton. Everything changed so dramatically that it was hard for Jenny to fully understand it herself. It took no longer than a month after the final game that both Jenny and Tom realized that maybe they weren't exactly meant for eachother. She would have thought the break up to be terrible, but in reality it was a relief. She was then able to finally allow herself not to feel guilt over the one who haunted her thoughts.
Julian
Everywhere she went she saw his white hair, impossibly blue eyes, and his flawless beauty. Of course she didn't just love him for his looks, he changed her world entirely. She learned to think for herself and to take risk. A part of her wanted Tom but the other part needed Julian. Ever since the end of his existence she couldn't quite continue everything normally. Tears rang down Jenny's eyes at the thought of it all. She hated herself for realizing that she loved Julian too late. She could only hope that one day he would be recreated by another shadow man.
She did feel sorry for her friends. She had been causing them such pain throughout the year. They noticed when Jenny just stared into the darkness with a sort of sadness in her eyes. They didn't fully understand it, but they knew that deep down she belonged to Julian entirely.
Jenny felt hopeless and had no idea where or who to turn to. A thought began to spark in her head when...
"Jenny," a beautiful voice whispered. Jenny's breath caught as she turned around. The person walked closer with excitement and hunger in their eyes. "Say the words once again, Jenny," he whispered into her ear, wrapping his arm around Jenny.
It took moments for Jenny to be able to move or think, but once she did tears began to spill from her eyes. She knew the words she would recite and this time it would mean something, "All I refuse and thee I choose," she stated as Julian bent his head down and kissed her.
