Maybe A Little Too PC?

AN: No, I do not claim ownership to the loveable alien, Mork and his leader, Orson; I simply own this goofy little one shot that is just my soap box about being too PC

It was time for Mork McConnell to do his weekly report to his supervisor, Orson. He settled on the middle cushion of the couch as he always did and began to enter the state of mental transmission that would link his mind to that of his boss.

"Mork calling Orson, come in, Orson. Mork calling Orson, come in, Orson. Mork calling Orson, come in Your Humongusness."

"I'm here, Mork, what have you learned about Earth this week?" Orson's booming voice echoed loudly through the young Orkan's head.

"Sir, I learned a very sad lesson recently about how political correctness can literally take away the freedoms the Earthlings in this country enjoy every day. You see, political correctness, or PC as they call it, is a set of written or unwritten rules that govern the way Earthlings here talk to or about each other, observe their holidays and religion, or handle their resources and possessions."

"What's wrong with that? In any society, we must have order, or there would be total chaos. Those laws are there for the people's protection and benefit."

"Orson, what benefit is it for Mindy to be told she can't wear her late mother's cross to work anymore if she wants to keep her job; how does it protect Mearth when he is so busy worrying about what to say or how to say it that he can't even get his point across in his public speaking class; What chaos was caused when Mindy's father wanted to put a Christmas tree in the music store window and wish his customers 'Merry Christmas'? You see, sir, everybody's so worried about not offending the other guy; they're not making the effort to get to know him. Who knows, perhaps he does want someone to wish him a 'Merry Christmas', especially if he might not have family to spend the holidays with. It's sad to see how unfriendly society can become if everybody's too afraid to reach out to one another for fear of being offensive or politically incorrect. How do you know what offends somebody if you don't even know who they are first? Until next week, sir, this is Mork signing off from Boulder, Colorado. Na-noo na-noo."
