1. Kanashimi
Abra, O'Shay and Tenma were sharing the last hours of the day. It was hard to tell that just a few days ago, the three were planning a happy future. The funeral had been a hard test for all of them but for Tenma specially. His own son, his only promise for a real future was now gone.
Once back at the Ministry, O'Shay was the first one to talk.
'I know how you're feeling, Tenma. Perhaps you should take a few days off' the old man gently touched the younger man's shoulder.
'He's right, old chap' Abra stared at his friend.
'I can't, I just CAN'T!' he shoved off the hand of the old man. 'Don't you get it? This is all my fault! Tobio's dead because of me!' Tenma felt on his chair. 'My only son is gone!'
'It was just an accident' the bald and raven-nosed scientist shrugged.
'No, it wasn't. If I had listened to him and repaired the bike...' he felt like burning inside. 'If only I hadn't been so focused in my job'
'This won't do and you know it, Tenma. The wound is still fresh. You are not thinking straight' O'Shay was concerned to death. 'I'm your friend and I think you should let the hurt heal'
'My son ain't comin' back. He isn't like...' a sudden idea crossed his mind.
'Like a robot?' Abra guessed. 'Immortal?'
'Hmm'
'Tenma, you are not thinking that, are you?'
'It's just an idea, O'Shay. What harm can come from something like that?'
'Something unpleasant. I think we both know each other too well'
'Tarou-chan' Abra glanced at both men and then towards Tenma.
'If you keep grabbing tight the sorrow and all you get is more pain. You will destroy yourself! Tenma, please. It's been a week. I know I can refuse a grieving father but please, we're friends. Please, trust me and relieve your heart before this tears you apart'
'...' Tenma clenched his teeth.
'Tarou-chan' the Persian was also pleading.
'I need time' the three decided to drop the subject and remained quiet the rest of the evening until they went back to their homes. Tenma's head kept on buzzing ideas as he drove to his house. He wasn't going to lose Tobio just like that, he couldn't! If robots were really that strong and his only resort, then he would do it. He would bring back his son and never lose him again.

The boy lied motionless in his arms.
All the fear running down his body and soul was gone. He no longer saw him moving or talking, it was over. And still, nothing was cured. He now felt as he had murdered his own son just like when he had shouted him driving him to run away and die in that car accident. Now, it was real.

His mind was spinning over and over; he had created something beyond his power and imagination, beyond his control. And still, he felt so lonely and hollowed.
He had to stop that madness but, first he had to get rid of… No. Even wanting it so badly, he couldn't do it. He has was far too important for his heart. Madness was taking over everything; he could hear the people from the floors above, the shouts, his own heart beating. His mind pounding with the recent events over and over, drifting into a dark corner of his self.
'I fall behind-
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost you can look-and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you- I'll be waiting
Time after time'
Tenma glanced at the boy. He could just get rid of him, end it all... No! His heart crashed against his ribs. The boy was not responsible. He couldn't be blamed for his creators blindness. Sigh. Tenma gagged. Long sigh. He was going to save him from his fears and madness. Solitude was much more attractive now that been comforted by all his colleagues of the Ministry of Science.
The man held tight the boy against his chest and walked towards one of the security rooms, prepare a capsule and put him inside. He looked so dreamy, as he was sleep. Tobio…

Tenma sighed with a tear running down his face and kissed the boy's forehead with all his love. He will be save from everything including Tenma himself.
"Sweet dreams… Tobio" He left the room and the capsule got inside the protection shelf.
