Chapter 1: Prologue
On September 18, 2010, a.t.b., the Holy Empire of Aerial overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with a brutal army of Alice users within less than a month. The small island nation had no chance against Aerial, which was the world's last remaining superpower. In order to obtain the mainland, the Aerial forces mobilized fleets of noble Alices, a human being with extraordinary powers, which science has yet to find out about. Their abilities exceeded expectations, and the Japanese defenses fell one after another before the might of Project Alice.
A bloody massacre took place at the same time of the invasion. The sixth Queen, Beatrix vi Aerial, was assassinated in the Imperial Palace in broad daylight, purportedly by terrorists, but the culprits were never found. The Queen's only child and surviving person from the blood scene, her nine-year old daughter, Claire vi Aerial, was missing by the time medical help arrived, creating a minor chaos in the capital. But search squads for the young princess had soon ended as most of them had already assumed her, dead.
Despite it's lack of natural resources, the nation of Japan had adopted a stance of nationalistic isolation. Massive brutal killings and massacres flooded the city day by day, not even letting a civilian's life be spared. In the aftermath of Aerial's invasion, Japan lost it's freedom, it's rights, and even it's name, becoming 'A7' of the Aerial Empire. The Japanese people, renamed 'Sevens', were forced to live in poor neighborhoods, while Aerialians lived in luxurious first-class settlements. Rebels against the Empire persisted, but most were rendered powerless against the fleet of Alice soldiers, and eventually failed.
The AAO, also known as Anti-Alice Organization, had taken a step forward, joining the Aerial as citizens. They were currently in-charge of the matters in A7, taking orders directly from Christopher la Aerial, the Third Prince, who was governing the Area.
Alice Academy, where Japan holds it's most valuable beings, otherwise known as 'Alices', is the only weapon known to defeat the Empire, and gain back the independence of Japan. Their location, up to now, is unfortunately unknown. Since the infiltration of their school, it was never heard of again.
