I was very stuck on what I would do for my Harry Potter Halloween one-shot, and was very lucky that my brain came up with this at the last minute.

Happy Halloween and be safe!

Disclaimer: I do not own this.

Howl.

He had went against his parent's demands, going to the park; his sanctuary.

They had fought that day, and, growing tired of it, he left.

He had only caught certain words from their quarrel, and had pieced together that his father was in trouble with someone.

Normally, he would've stayed home under such conditions (not that this had happened before), but today was a rather different story.

He liked the swing the most; it was reliable, sturdy, and moreover, comforting. He needed some reassurance at this moment.

The swing set's rusty chains grinding was the only thing he could hear besides his cautious breathing.

The sun had started to set earlier the previous month, and thought is was only five o'clock, the sky was already black with stars and night.

The young boy sighed, tired of the events.

He stood, intending to return home and enter Dreamland.

A roar ripped through the silent night, and the boy sucked in cold air.

Something tackled him, and he fell to the ground. Whatever it was, it reeked.

The boy felt teeth puncture his skin.

He wanted to shout, but the smell rolled into his mouth and nose; he vomited.

The beast grunted and a guttural laugh echoed across the desolate park.

The boy entered a deeper, blacker, and unfamiliar night. (1)

When the boy regained consciousness, he was still lying in the park.

His heart was beating faster and irregularly, and the boy looked down on instinct.

Blood soaked and coated his fur, gleaming and wet.

Fur?

Remus howled.

(1) As in, he passed out.
