Eyes
Pain filled golden eyes
can hardly understand as
he gets brushed aside.
Just a child
it's not his fault
he didn't turn out that way.
Eyes so full
of innocence and love.
Are you proud
of what you've done to him?
He's hurt -
it's all your fault.
Innocent golden eyes
trusting time
and again.
Move on, little boy
before you're hurt.
Since when did
daddy ever care?
Don't worry, though, it's
not your fault.
Brave gold eyes
wild with pride.
What others think
they see
is not what's
inside.
You and I both
know the sad, sad truth.
Baby love, daddy doesn't
love you,
but I do.
Trusting wide blue eyes
you took away
her faith in what
is good.
I hope that you
are proud.
She can't forgive you,
neither can I.
Gentle blue eyes
so willing to heal.
And gold and blue
and green beside her.
My family
turned out so much
better than yours.
Bule, gold, blue, green.
My love, my heart, my life, my world.
Mine forever,
I am theirs'.
You may not have ever cared,
but they do.
Originally, this started out as just about Zuko's childhood, and how I'll bet my left sock (heheh, Dragonfable joke) that Ozai was an abusive jerk-off. But it turned into sort of a piece between both him and Katara, and railing against Ozai for being a jerk-off. Review, please, since this'll probably be the only poetry I do.
