Author's Note: "A Heist of Honor" is a prologue to the events that occurred in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This is not about the Thieves Guild Quest. All characters, story lines, etc are owned by Bethesda... besides my own characters. Readers might be happy to know that this story will occur in the Crimson Conspiracy Universe ;). Do tell me what you think of this idea in your reviews :D.
A Heist of Honor: Prologue
For over 300 years, the Thieves Guild has held a dubious grip over the crime in the lands of Cyrodiil and her surrounding provinces, keeping criminals in line and keeping the rate of theft under control. The Gray Fox extended his rule from the beginning years of Emer Dareloth by passing down the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal to any unlucky soul that has proved themselves to this Master of Thieves.
The Thieves Guild has reached a legendary status, sparking myths and rumors when there truly was none to be found. They morphed and formed to the mold society had created for them, gaining what they could from a false mythos.
And from their shadows, fanatical heroes and master criminals were born. To fight against a myth, to fight an invisible war… only a few have dared tried. Hieronymus Lex, compelled by personal vendetta and the lust for revenge, works away every minute of his career hunting the figure head of the Thieves Guild. Driven by an unknown hatred, he risks his entire career chasing a fleeting demon. And all the while, The Gray Fox works against the sands of time to reclaim his identity and his very soul from the vice of a Daedric Prince.
But nothing is safe from the hands of a thief.
Even honor.
