I've had this idea for half a year now (even made a whole NG thing starting from this). I just decided to actually write it down for the father daughter episode 28 of soul eater.
disclaimer: I don't own soul eater.
Only For You
It was our little seceret, no one would ever know but use.
The flowing sound flooded the apartment complex. Each note danced around the other, having a masquerade of tunes fly around. If you closed your eyes, letting yourself get lost in the music, you could feel the softening flickers of the soul playing it.
Little pitter patters on the polished wooden floor echoed inside the tune. The rushing steps soon stopped in front of white double doors. To the small figure the bronze handles were hard to reach, but soon enough the little hands were able to open the doors to the sunny piano room.
"Papa!"
Soul turned to see his bustling little girl rush into the room. A small adoring smile spread on his face, he still couldn't believe she was able to walk only days ago. Her feet stumbled a little on the rim of her navy play dress but she was able to fall over into his lap.
Letting out a small chuckle he asked "What is it Tally? Did you see another scary globe?"
Looking up to her father with big blue eyes she shook her head in a childish manner. "No"
"Then why did you come all the way in here"
"I heard papa's pretty sound"
Soul let out a small playful grunt. If anyone other than his daughter caught him doing this, he'd just deny it and say it was the old record at the side of the room.
Knowing the routine with his daughter, he gently picked her up and placed her beside him on the bench, she became too big to put on his lap anymore. Slowly he moved his hands over the various black and white pedals.
It was the same song as before but with a slower rhythm, so his daughter could watch closely. He kept playing the same measures as a catch tune, and soon his daughter caught the patter and started to play the keys he purposely didn't play.
A bubble of giggles came out her mouth; she always enjoyed playing the piano with her father. It was their special time together, only they could share it.

Maka entered the apartment with a hand full of groceries. Setting her keys down on the kitchen table, she looked around for her daughter, who usually spent her time coloring there.
Finding no signs of her or her husband, she walked around the rooms looking. That's when she picked up on the faint noise down the hall.
Walking slowly to the double doors, she peaked into soul's piano room. A small smile spread on her face when she saw what was happening.
In the center of the piano-sun room sat her two favorite snow heads, playing together on the piano. She loved seeing these moments, because mixed in with all the laughter between the two, were the flutter of her daughter's growing soul and the softening of her love's.
She quietly closed the door behind her, still with a happy knowing smile on her face. She'd let the two have their time together, it was their little secret anyway and she didn't want to ruin it.
The scythe technician hummed quietly to the little tune they were playing, absorbing the feel of their souls in the music.
That felt nice to write. Everything was sweet and simple (maybe too simple?).
This is also a peek at my version of soul and maka's daughter, Vitality (Tal or Tally for short). I might write about my other NG characters that have their own little story/series with Vitality, just R&R for more.
