It was true love. It was a love so deep it came straight from the very best of fairy tales. Their tale, their drabble, may take up just one chapter in the story book of life, but it was their fairy tale. Their legend.
It was a 'once upon a time' sort of deal. Every kid's perfect fantasy…
There was the Knight in Shining Armor who came rushing in to save the day. He wasn't rescuing fair maidens though, no, he was there for the sweet prince. His love, his life, his everything.
And the sweet prince was waiting for him. He knew his brave Knight would come around someday, and he did. And they were happy.
They fought every battle together. United, not even the evil stench of sickness and disease could defeat them.
Then one day after winning one of these battles the valiant pair gathered all their friends and went to celebrate the marvelous victory. This day would be the closing of their story, though, as every tale as its ending.
For you see they were in love. Lust was there also, but this is a fairy tale, and fairy tales do not speak of such things, yet I digress. Love, yes, love is always mentioned, and they were so very much in love. However, they had not told anyone of this forbidden love. They had kept it a secret, a hidden meaning behind their stares, innocent touches, and inseparable lives.
So yes, this is the final page of the chapter telling the tale of these two characters.
Carla, Turk, Elliot, Jordan, and Perry grabbed a table as JD went to get a few pitchers of beer. The young doctor quickly returned and within an hour everyone was relaxed and happy.
"That was amazing what you did today, Bambi," Carla compliments, turning to look at JD. "You saved that man's life."
JD smiles and says lightly, "Thanks, Carla, I never could've done it without Per—Dr. Cox, though." Perry glares at the near slip up from his protégé. JD just sighs when he sees it.
Jordan stares at the two men while Carla, Turk, and Elliot chatter in the background. She sees them communicate silently and suddenly the past weeks click in place. The secret smiles, the disappearing acts. They had apparently finally realized what everyone else had already known--that they were in love with each other.
"Well, it's about time," she confronts them on it. Everyone stares at her curiously so Jordan smirks and points a finger at Perry and JD.
The dark haired, young doctor blushes furiously but opens his mouth to confirm what they've said when he's interrupted.
Dr. Cox crosses his arms. "I don't know what the hell you're talking about," he sneers angrily, "I wouldn't hit that with a ten foot pole, not e-he-he-ven if you paid me. In fact, here's a list of things I'd rather do than be in a relationship with Pricilla over here--Go to Canada, go to Australia, spend more than ten minutes alone with Barbie, break all my fingers, watch a Gilmore Girls marathon, sit through a whole Hugh Jackman movie,…need I continue?"
JD reaches a hand out to his lover in shock. "Per--," he begins.
"What!?" the curly haired man snaps.
"Why are you denying this?" JD whispers hoarsely gesturing between himself and Perry.
Perry picks up his beer. "Denying what?"
Hearts shattered as the door slammed when JD left that night.
And that, my good readers, is the end. It may have been a fairy tale while it lasted, and it may have been a 'once upon a time', but it was never a 'happily ever after'.
For you see, while the brave Knight and the sweet Prince may be surrounded by magic, they were only human. And the Knight in Shining Armor was self-destructive and the Prince couldn't stop him.
Perhaps I should have said earlier--this was a tragedy.
