She said forever in Heaven.

It was a normal night in the camp since they had returned from thr Holy Lands. Normal being that everyone else slept peacefuly while Robin sat awake all night by the fire being haunted by his past. Through those burning flames he saw the images of the battle in the Holy Lands where the king was attacked. He saw him returning home, home to what he thought would be a life of luxuary and peace. But turned into one of fighting and running. Then he saw her. Her face, her smile, her eyes, her angelic presence. They looked deep within him seeing all that he hid. She had always been able to see past his fake smile and lieing eyes, and sometimes it was a trate he hated her for when others it was the only thing that saved him. She would draw him back from his dark thoughts and haunting nightmares. She would hold him in this world longer than he thought it would have been possible to. But then he see's his most monstrous nightmare of them all, it is the only one that haunts him now. He see's her face, her beautiful face that always brought a smile to his face and a light into his day. But then he see's as her eyes widen in shock and pain, he sees the sword that's protruding from her belly clasped in Gisbourne hand. He watches as her white dress becomes a shade of crimson. She falls to the ground and he runs to her, but he knows that there is nothing that he can do but he is not yet ready to admit it and turns to Djaq for help knowing that there is nothing she can do either. He had married her that day. The day where he became a husband followed by a widow mere seconds after. He had held her body tight to his own and cried openly even in front of his men who watched with saddened and guilt torn faces as they lost a friend and comrade in battle. They had shared their first kiss as husband and wife but also their last. She had closed her eyes that day forever. He would never look into those ocean blue pools again where he would be drawn into a world of dreams and hopes for the future where they lived in Locksley, the King back on his thrown and the two of them sitting happily outside Locksley as they watched their children run and play in front of them. Those dreams were impossible now. She was gone and those hopes had gone with her. It was strange when he thought about it. He had so much to tell her but had never had the courage to speak certain things to her. They were not for a man to say you see. Then when she was dying he never had the time. There was so little time with so much to say. How can you show someone you love them more than your life when you have only seconds before theirs ends? She had said that they would have forever in heaven but he swore that he was going to hell. He had killed so many men. Religious men whom may not worship his God but they do worship their own Lord and Saviour, and surely he would wish him punished. He deserved to be punished, he could not even keep the one person he loved alive. He had often thanked God as a boy for making such a wonderful woman love such a proud ridden man, but then he had gone to war and killed and that was just part of his punishment losing her. There were greater and worse things to come.

He looked up to the dark night sky as the stars sparkled like her eyes once did.

'Forever in heaven my love.' He whispered up to them. 'I am sorry that I am having to leave you again...forever this time...You see...heaven has no place for a murderer like me.' He finished as the tears which he thought would have run out by now started to fall once again.
