Dean Winchester has a certain charm. Of this, Sam Winchester was sure.

He had seen this certain charm in action before. Many times in fact. Every time they went out and an attractive woman was near - it came out and let itself known. This was a shameless use of charm. And a this is also what it was used for. For talking to women - getting sex. Lots of sex in fact. And if there is no time for the sex, then a phone number or their MySpace account. It seemed as if this charm would affect any and every woman. Sometimes Dean didn't even move a muscle and the ladies flocked towards him. This certain charm seemed to radiate off him. Like a signal his body sent out.

And when they were questioning pretty women for information, this charm would go into overdrive. Dean could get the ladies to tell him anything. Their most private secrets would jump out of their soft lips and make their way in whispered tones into his awaiting ears.

But if the woman in question had her boyfriend or husband with her, the charm was that of a gentlemen and would not make an appearance (most of the time). Dean did not want to use his gift of charm on a taken woman. But if would make an appearance if the woman had low self-esteem. He would use this certain charm to boost her spirits, make her day. Make her feel special and wanted.

Dean didn't know it, but one time his use of charm saved a life. The woman had felt like no one wanted her, as if no one would miss her, as if she were no one. But he made her feel like someone again. Wanted. Needed. Alive. She had been planning to swallow the pills that night; then he talked to her. He asked for her number and actually called her. He'd call her still, once in a while. Checking in on her. Talking to her. Visiting her if he was in the area. He remembered her name.

Actually, he remembered every girl's name.

And hers wasn't Starla.

The problem was that this certain charm was not found when they were questioning guys or couples. It would go into hiding. During the absence of his charm he could come off as awkward. Once in a while as creepy. When this happened the people would clam up. Freak out. Panic. This is when Sam would step in. He didn't have Dean's charm, but he had picked up some of this certain charm over the years. Though he couldn't use the charm as shamelessly with woman like Dean could.
