...This is my third fic in three days. I wasn't even in SCHOOL this time. WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME?! O.O
Also, why can I only seem to be writing in drabbles these days?
Ah well, enjoy anyway, I don't own, and review if you like it!
Contrary to popular belief Light is not Kira. Kira is a completely separate being, given speech with the pen, and life with the pages. Kira has always been around, suppressed by Light throughout his life, because Light is the coward who will say, "No, it's wrong to kill anybody." Kira is both stranger and friend, living under Light's skin. Kira is everything Light wants to be, but can't. They just think too differently.
Kira sees it as his right to cleanse the world, to rule it. Kira knows he is smarter, knows he is stronger, knows he is better than anyone on Earth, as God should be. It's time for another flood, and this time, there won't be an ark. It was destiny that he found the notebook. It is the weapon for Kira's victory.
Light sees it as his responsibility to clean up the world and make it right again, to sacrifice himself so that the world can be better. Light has no disillusions; he's smart, yes, but he's still only human, so he knows how much he owes to the notebook that Kira takes for granted. Light knows it was destiny that he found the notebook. It is the tool for humanity's salvation.
Kira sees an enemy in L. He sees the only man in the world smart enough to stop him, and he hates L because L scares him. If L wins, Kira cannot exist. Kira doesn't want to disappear, not now, not when he's finally been set free. Kira hates everything about L, his mannerisms, his mind, and all his little quirks. Kira is at his worst when L is involved, and he wants to kill L more than anyone else alive.
Light sees a strange, brilliant man with a monstrous sweet tooth, who plays great tennis, kicks hard, and can match him blow for blow in the mental games they'll play late at night, when the task force sleeps but they won't. L is the only man in the world able to both annoy and fascinate him like he does. Light sees a friend in L, and wishes that he didn't have to die.
Kira sees pawns. Kira sees idiotic men and emotional women, bratty children and senile elderly. He sees a sister he'd gladly kill, a mother who knows absolutely nothing, and a father who's so blatantly foolish Kira feels disgusted to call him Dad. Kira sees puppets to be controlled, life spans to half, and walking time bombs that only he can set off. Kira sees enemies and pieces of garbage, and he can't wait to kill them off so he can be rid of them.
Light sees people. He sees a father who embodies justice better than he ever could, and a group of men who are steadfastly loyal to him. He sees a caring mother, a sister whose life means more than a set of pages, and he sees emotions as something to be cared for, not manipulated. He feels sorry for Misa, and Takada, and wishes they'd never heard of him. He sees the evil, the corrupt, and the insane. He can't wait to kill them off so the world can be rid of them.
