Naru closed his eyes as he sat at his desk. Where's Mai?

"Nolly, Nolly, Nolly!"

The raven haired man sighed and rubbed his temples. Where is she?!

"Nolly, Nolly, Nolly!!"

A small teddy bear flew up and hit the twenty-two year old man causing him to turn to the owner of the happy little voice.

"NOLLY!!" the baby laughed.

Naru couldn't help but smile at the black haired child.

"Gene," he started, and lifted up the teddy, "Don't throw things."

The baby only giggled, his bright blue eyes shining.

Naru smiled at the sight of his son. Gene was one year old. He had the same carefree, loving, yet also mischievous personality as his mother, while he had the looks of his father.

The boy crawled over to his father and tried to climb up into his lap. After a few unsuccessful tries Naru bent over and lifted the boy up.

"Nolly!" the boy giggled again, causing the man to roll his eyes.

"Of course your first word just had to be 'Nolly.' Why did your mother ever teach you that ridiculous name?" he asked in a soft voice.

"Well, when I taught it to him I didn't expect him to actually be able to pronounce it," a woman's voice came from the doorway.

Naru looked up at his wife with an unbelieving look. "Right, you probably taught him it for payback of all the times I tease you."

Mai tried and failed to hold back a guilty grin. "…Maybe. But you have to admit…it is rather cute, ne?" Mai laughed.

Noll only rolled his eyes again in answer.

Gene stretched his arms out for his mother, who instantly walked over and picked the boy up from his father's hold.

After playing a bit with the baby in her arms, Mai shook her head with a small smile. "I guess I should have taught him how to say 'daddy' first huh? Maybe then you wouldn't be so mopey all the time."

"I'm not mopey," Naru crossed stated as he stood and walked over to his family.

"Sure you aren't."

Naru bent over and pecked his wife on her forehead. "Okay…maybe a little."

Mai laughed, causing Gene to laugh with her.

"Well…" she started and handed the little boy over to his father, "We can always teach the next one how to say 'daddy' first."

Naru quirked an eyebrow at his wife's statement. "'Next one?'"

Mai smirked and headed for the door. "You're going to be a daddy of two in a few months."

With that said, she closed the door behind her as she left her husband's office, leaving him standing in shock in her wake.

After a moment, a large smile grew on his face. So there's soon to be another little one…

He felt Gene squirm in his arms as the boy turned to look up at him with a big smile plastered on his face.

"DADDY!"
