He didn't know how it happened. All he knew was that he went to sleep the night before and was awakened the next morning by a loud voice and the slamming of a door. He knew it wasn't any of his servants because they were all dignified and peaceful. Besides, none of them were men. So he did what was called for in those situations and jumped up out of bed and searched for his weapon. When he didn't feel the metal of his claws he looked around and noticed that he wasn't in his room but in the room of someone else, and the man that was looking at him in annoyance told him exactly whose room it is.

"Where am I?" He asked, light hazel eyes narrowing into a glare. If he was kidnapped during the night then he was sure going to be killing someone before breakfast. Instead of getting intimidated the other male just laughed and clapped his hands together as if he were at one of those plays that they did down in the market square of the village near by. "What?" He asked in a huff and moved a hand to push back his long auburn hair so that it was out of his face.

"Nothing." The male went to sit down on a chair and stared at him as if he was the most amusing thing in the world. This, of course this made him angry and he stomped a foot in annoyance turning his back on the male so that he could do anything but see him. Without his weapon he couldn't do much for defense so he might as well go along with what ever these people were scheming.

Though even though he couldn't see him he could tell the man was staring. Usually he didn't mind it, hell he was happy for it most of the time, but right now he did. It was early in the morning and hasn't even had his brush yet for his hair. "…"

That thought made him gasp and look down at himself. Yeah, he was still dressed in his sleeping gown and his hair un-brushed. With a noise of displeasure he jumped right back into the bed and covered himself with the blanket an even harsher glare set upon the man. "Don't just sit there being rude get me something to wear!"

With a laugh the man got up and made his way to the corner of the room and pulled out a pair of pants and tossed them onto the bed. "Don't be so shy Princess." Instead of turning around so he could change the man just leaned against the wall and watched from the new and even closer angle.

Figuring that he wasn't going to move he slowly moved out from under the covers and took off his robe as quickly as possible so he could put the pants on. "Don't call me Princess. If you must know my name then it's Zhang He. The general from Wei."

"From Wei?" The man at least pretended to look interested, though that could have been because he was wiggling around in the pants trying to figure out how to keep them up. "Well then you traveled a long way to get into my bed don't you think?"

Zhang He glared up at him when he made a move to step closer. Instead of getting scared of the man just pushed his hands away and helped him tie up the pants. "I did no such thing. I remember falling to sleep last night. Then waking up in this awful place." When the man pulled away he looked at him up and down. Who are you and where am I?"

"Awful place?" The man laughed again and Zhang He could tell he was having fun with this whole thing. "It didn't seem that way, the way you curled into me like a kitten." Just to piss off the Wei general even more the man ran a hand through his long hair as if petting him. "The Great Pirate Gan Ning of Wu." He pulled his hand away and moved so that he could go to the door.

Oh Zhang He wanted to punch him in the face but he figured that it would be best if he didn't. Especially if he was in Wu's Kingdom. "How did I get here?" He settled for the next best thing and asked the most obvious question. Even Zhang He could tell that they kidnapped him. Well, if Sima Yi or Cao Cao figured it out then they would surely be working to get him back.

"If I knew then I wouldn't tell you." Gan Ning shrugged his shoulders and went to sat back down as if on guard to watch the enemy general. "Though strange things have been happening all over the land so I don't know. Hell, not even Zhou Yu does and he's the smartest!"

Zhang He winced slightly. They could be lying about that but he probably figured that the voice of pure amazement in the males' voice meant he was telling the truth. And if that was the case then he just had to sit and wait until things were figured out and put back into place.

"Like this morning, Sun Ce found a foreigner in our gardens mumbling something about needing to find his Lord Nobunaga and Mitsuhide. Strange names don't you think?" As he talked Zhang He looked around to see if there was a mirror, he was sure that his hair was a mess considering it was out of the braid that he had once put it in.

"Yes, yes that's nice." Zhang He waved him off so he could shut up. Once he did he motioned to his hair. "I need a brush and a mirror. Perhaps some ribbons as well. I need to get my hair out of the way." He wanted to add, In case I have to fight you, but figured it would be best to keep that little secret kept locked away in his mind.

"I have a brush." Gan Ning stood up and grabbed it from inside a box that was resting on top of a desk. Like nothing he tossed it to Zhang He who caught it and looked down at it.

The comb, he corrected in his mind, was such a beautiful thing made from ivory with designs and jewels embedded inside it. "Where…?" The sight of it took his breath away and he knew that it was expensive. "How much do you generals of Wu get paid?" He gasped.

Gan Ning gave a laugh and shook his head. "Probably as much as any other general?" He gave a lazy shrug of his shoulders and went so he could look through another box. "That, is from my pirate days. I can't remember exactly where I got it at any more."

"Well it's beautiful." He didn't know if he should comb his hair with it just in case he messed it up. But figuring he wouldn't look any better if his hair wasn't combed he sat on the bed and slowly started to comb out his long hair.

"Here." He was interrupted again and this time he was getting hair pins shoved into his face. "I don't need any of these things so you can keep them."

Zhang He gave a nervous laugh as he reached out a hand to take them. Again more ivory and more jewels. This time they were adorned with little bells and gems hanging down on thin chains. Atop of them and even on the hanging chains, were butterflies. "Keep… them…" He whispered softly, a small smile on his face as he stared at them in wonder.

"Eh… yeah." Gan Ning rubbed the back of his head as he looked away. "Now… um… Are you hungry?"

That made Zhang He finally turn away from the hair pins and look to the pirate. "Not particularly, no." Setting down the fine objects he went back to combing his hair, making sure to get all of it and thinking of ways that he could fix it up. "Well, maybe just a little bit."

Gan Ning gave a nod and went to the door to say something to the guards. When he was done he turned back to Zhang He and motioned for him to stay there. "You have no weapons and because of all these strange visitors we've gotten during the night guards are stationed everywhere. Don't bother trying to escape, Princess." When Zhang He huffed and looked as if he was going to throw something Gan Ning gave a laugh and quickly ducked out of the room.

"Such a noisy man he is." He spoke to the hair pins and looked for something shiny in the room so that he could fix his hair properly, waiting for his breakfast to be brought to him.

This story came about a dream that I have. o.o In case no one is aware of Gan Ning x Zhang he is my OTP. Yes, I love rare and random ass parings. Anyway, this was supposed to be part of a writing practice that I was doing. I would write about the dreams that I had. And this is the result of it all. It wasn't going to be a chaptered story but there is no way that everything was going to fit into one thing. So yeah, here it is.

Anyway, none of these characters are mine. They all belong to Koei. o.o Whether it be Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors.

And if you can't tell this is a story from Musou Orochi (I don't know what the English title is, sue me.) So we are not going by history or what ever. If you don't like that, tough. Go bother Koei about that, not me.
