Epilogue

"Sirius!" Eowyn called from the open door of their gust room in Rivendell, as she nursed her swollen stomach. "Hermione and Legolas are here!" She practically sang. Her skin was glowing from the effects of maternity and she grinned as Hermione ran up the stairs to embrace her in a physically awkward hug.

"Look at you! You must be due soon." She said, patting her friend's pregnant belly. "Oh, Sirius must be so excited!" She said kindly.

Said man waltzed out the door with a smile on his slightly aged face. "Hermione!" He hugged her soundly as Legolas joined them on the landing, pulling his wife close by the waist. Sirius shook Legolas' hand. "Where're the kids?" He asked.

"We let them go find Gimli." Hermione replied with a smirk. "But I suppose we should go and save them." She sighed, grinning as she went down the stairs with Sirius hot on her tail.

"You rascals!" A deep brogue voice told Hermione and Sirius where to look. "You've gotten so big!" Gimli's voice exclaimed as he came into view, covered by Legolas and Hermione's two children.

"Grace and Inalia Greenleaf!" Hermione exclaimed. "You get off poor Gimli right this minute." She said, sternly as her two twin daughters froze on the spot. They turned around to see their mother grinning and then turned to Sirius with determined grins.

"Uncle Siri!" They cried as they bounded into his open arms. Grace and Inalia were twins, yes, but they looked nothing alike; Grace had her mother's curly brown hair, whilst Inalia had her father's fine blonde locks. Their eyes however, were a light honey brown colour, from their mother's side.

"Now, now, don't crowd poor uncle Siri!" He said, mocking age. "You might kill my back the you two little blighters are going!" They simply giggled and hugged him harder.

"He'll make a great father." Hermione told Eowyn softly as she rounded the corner, being helped along by Legolas. "He's great with kids and he's already had the practice; just look at how much my daughters love him." She smiled, her eyes lighting up affectionately as she watched her four year old children.

"I know. Oh, he's so excited about it. I think he's hoping for a boy though." Eowyn laughed. "But I'm pretty sure he is a she." She said patting her belly.

"You never know." Hermione said knowingly. "We thought we were only having one and we thought it was going to be a baby boy."

"One day, my love." Legolas said, kissing his wife's hand.

"Hermione! Legolas! Eowyn!" They heard from the direction of the opposite double doors. It was Arwen, carrying her sleeping baby boy, who went by the name of Delkyrie. She hugged each in turn, careful to avoid squishing her baby. "How was the trip?" She asked.

Hermione answered first. "Well, with two four year olds, it was a bit rough, but fine. I'm just glad we're here now."

"Well we got here a couple of days ago from Gondor. Aragorn is playing a game of chess against Gandalf now." She rolled her eyes fondly. "But it was easy, with this one sleeping all the time."

"Hello Arwen." Sirius greeted, kissing his wife on the nose. The girls were now looking at the view from the balcony. "Where' your other half? I've been meaning to challenge him to a re-match." He said raising his eyebrows mock-dangerously.

"He's playing chess with Gandalf. Go bother him and see if you can get him away from the game. He's determined to win." She laughed, stroking little Delkyrie's head of dark brown hair.

Sirius grinned. "I'll see what I can do, then." He said, before heading off.

"Girls." Hermione called, beckoning them over. "Have you met your little cousin Delkyrie?" She asked as they approached the group of adults.

"Oh wow, mummy he's so small!" Inalia said in an excited whisper as Arwen leant down to show them the baby in her arms.

"Look, he looks like Uncle Aragorn." Grace stated in a rather matter of fact way. Just then, the baby opened his eyes. Everyone smiled as the little girls gasped. "But he has Auntie Arwen's eyes." Grace added further.

"He's beautiful, Arwen." Hermione said. Arwen thanked her and they moved on in a large group into the grand hall for dinner.

Epilogue. Epilogue. Epilogue.

They all stood on the docks of Rivendell, a sombre mood hung in the air. Gandalf hugged all of the hobbits (Grace and Inalia had gotten on famously with Merry and Pippin. It seems they had picked up the talent for pranks). He turned to Hermione, who hugged him furiously, a couple of stray tears rolling down her cheek.

"Now, now," He chuckled. "Don't cry. There is no need for sorrow." Gandalf then said his kind farewells to Legolas, Gimli and at last, Aragorn. It wasn't complete of course, until Gandalf announced that Frodo was to come with them.

"B-but Frodo, you can't go…" Sam said sadly, as if he already knew deep down this was a lost cause.

"I have to, Sam." He said kindly, before hugging the other hobbits and squeezing Sam tightly. "Goodbye, Sam."

"I'll miss you, Mr. Frodo." He said, tearful.

Frodo then turned to Aragorn, Arwen, Eowyn, Sirius (they had become friends over the years, too), Legolas and Hermione. "Well, this is it. I thank you for your friendship and pray your lives peaceful and happy ones." He said humbly.

They all looked at him and then at each other. That was when they pounced. "Goodbye Frodo." In one form or another, they said goodbye. It wasn't a cheerful event, but it wasn't heart-breaking as the left over group watched the last boat to leave Middle Earth do just that.

"Mummy?" Inalia asked, tugging on her mother's dress. "Where's Frodo going? And what about Gandalf?" She asked curiously.

"Honey, they've gone to live their lives somewhere else. Sort of like Heaven." Hermione answered. "We'll see them again one day." It was then that Hermione made eye contact with Galadriel.

'Your children will be powerful and wise. Just like their worldly mother.' She spoke into Hermione's mind.

Hermione smiled and mouthed something back. More trouble.

Legolas took Grace's hand and Hermione took Inalia's hand in hers. Legolas put his free arm around Hermione's shoulders as they turned back to their friends and family, faint smiles on their faces. Their lives had just begun.

End.

That's it. Saving Middle Earth is now complete people! I would like to thank all of those who have kept up with the story all the way to the end and haven't gotten bored with it. YOU PEOPLE ROCK.

Now, in the future, I may possibly write a couple of one-shots, unless anyone has ideas about a sequel?? But if not, I will probably put up a few of those lovely 'life after…' things.

Peace, people. xD
