Renji was out walking, it was early evening. He was trying to put off doing his paperwork, and so, he had to avoid his captain.

Only, turning a corner, he nearly ran into the man he had been trying to avoid.

"I'm sorry, Sir. I'll go finish my paperwork right now…"

"Renji?"

"Y..yes, sir?" this was odd, he usually said, "Abarai."

"Want to go for a drink?"

"Huh?"

"Don't make me repeat myself again. I said, do you want to go get a drink?"

"Um… sure."

"What? Quite staring at me like I've grown another head, now come on." Byakuya started walking, then looked over his shoulder. "Coming?"

"Yeah…"

"What now. Is the fact that I want to go get a drink so surprising?"

"Well, um, you usually don't, well, drink."

"Uh huh. Can't I…"

"I know, "Can't I be normal once in a while?"

"Well, I was going to say, "Humanish", to quote you, but that works just as well. You're catching on."

"Maybe he should go see Captain Unohana… I think something's wrong with him."

"What was that?"

"Oh, nothing."
