Hey people! I was just watching because of Winn-Dixie and was inspired o write this! I hope you like it but for some of you it might make you cry...but I hope not! Enjoy!

Gwen sat alone on he shore of the beach, holding a bright red collar. A few tears managed to escape her eyes as she looked at it.

"Hey, what's the matter, Gwen?" said a voice. Gwen looked up to see the familiar face of Trent.

"Oh, nothing." She said casually. Right.

"You can tell me." He said, taking a seat and smiling at her. She sighed.

"Well, it's sorta weird." She said, looking away. He put his hand on her shoulder.

"It doesn't matter." He said. She took a deep breath.

"Ok, well...when I was six I had a dog named Violet. We were…..best friends when no one else wanted to be mine. And, all my family really loved her. But one day she….." she held back tears "was hit. So, this was a-all I had left of her. So every year I bury it then have a sort of ceremony." She finished, almost ready to cry. She looked at him.

"I-I'm sorry I know it's stupid……." He pulled her closer.

"No way." He said. "I used to have a dog, too, but we had to put him……well, down." He sighed.

"I-I'm sorry." She said. There was a pause.

"Hey, do you think your dog would mind if I played it a little song?" he asked. Gwen looked at him.

"Why not?" she said. He pulled out his guitar and started to strum. He put together the most beautiful string of words she had ever heard. He didn't sing, but the music spoke for itself. It was both sad and happy at the same time. It was like….bittersweet. But it sounded beautiful.

"You think Violet liked that?" he asked. She smiled really big.

"She thought it was the most beautiful thing she ever heard." She said. He smiled and stood up.

"So, do you wanna go back to camp?" he asked, holding out his hand. She nodded and took it. As they walked back, Gwen thought she heard to dogs barking together in harmony. She smiled.

For all of you that have just lost a dog just remember you always have memories and friends! But, if you DID like this, please comment!
