"All I'm saying is, Nunchaku are the way to go!"

"Yeah, if you want to hit yourself more than the enemy!" A strong voice retorted. "'Sides, everyone knows that a bit of metal up close and personal is the way to go!"

"You must be joking, Raph. It's all about the blades! None of that dull Sai stuff."

The four brothers were lounging on the couch, cooling off after a morning of vigorous training. The twelve year old turtles had just chosen their preferred weapons not a full half hour ago, and were excited to master them.

"Blades? You must be joking! They're stereotypical!" Raphael replied hotly, flipping his Sai in his hand and failing to catch the heavy instrument.

"All I know is, I'm glad I didn't get stuck with a plain old stick," was Michelangelo's cheeky remark as he nailed himself in the head with a twirling nunchaku. "Ow."

"Yeah," Raphael seemed to ponder this for a moment. "Hey Donnie, why did you choose the Bo Staff? I mean, it's just a long stick."

The purple wearing brother looked up from reading his book and looked fondly at his Bo laying across his lap.

"Simple, really." he smirked. "If you can learn how to master a stick, you're golden." Silence met this statement so he continued. "Think about it. You're out all alone and you get ambushed. How many sais, or nunchaku, or even swords are you going you find just lying around? Now think about how many sticks you'll find." He marked the page in his book and closed it. "Besides, can you imagine the embarrassment of getting beat up with a little tree branch?" he smirked at the silence that met his statement and got up, retreating to his computer.

"You know, it really is no wonder why he's the brain," Leonardo spoke softly, shaking his head at his brother's logic.

If you can't tell by my other one-shots, this was inspired by real-life events! I was driving in the car with my dad yesterday and we had a conversation of whose style of martial arts beats whose…his Aikido or my MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)…Somehow weapons got involved and we wound up debating on the uses of a stick…

Lemme know what you think, and thank you for reading!!
