A short little something that has been floating about in my head...
"You're ridiculous, I thought the next time I'd see you, you'd be in your original body…and yet you go and wreck your automail and come rushing home. It's been hardly two whole weeks Edward…" Winry hissed as she tightened a bolt.
"I know I'm wasting time!" He yelled in return, a fight breaking out.
"Don't yell at me like this is my fault!" She slammed her wrench down on the table, glaring at him. Livid pools of blue stared into amber.
"I need to get back to everyone…but I'm useless with a dead arm…" His voice was low and the words came out like an angry growl.
"I'm aware of that, Edward. I'm going as fast as I can!" She growled in return.
No words were spoken between them for a few moments before Edward lifted his eyes up towards her, the anger drained from them.
"Winry?" He asked of her, his voice low and thoughtful.
"Yes?" She asked, her annoyance gone as well. She looked down at him and smiled. "I'm almost finished, but I think it's better if you leave early in the morning. They'll expect the night more I think, don't you?"
"Well, yeah…but that isn't what I wanted to talk to you about."
"Than what?" She wondered.
"I think you should get on a train with Pinako and Den and leave this country as soon as possible." Edward commanded as he lifted himself from the table, "I'm not saying this is happening tomorrow…but when it does happen I want you as far away from me as possible."
She calmly shook her head, "No, I already said I wasn't leaving…I believe wholly in you and what you can do Ed, so no." Her voice was calm. "Maybe I should just go with you."
"No."
"But I want to stay with you Ed!" Winry pleaded, moving closer towards him, reaching out. The calmness was replaced with urgency.
"NO!" Edward shouted, putting his hands on her shoulders. "There's absolutely no way I could let you come with me this time." He looked down, relieved she did not cry. If she would have cried, he might have let his composure crumble.
"But…I want to be with you." He looked up at her quickly, trying to decipher the message that was hidden in her eyes.
"What…do you mean?" Edward asked of her, his voice husky and deep.
"I want to be with you." She softly chuckled, as if there was any other way to put it. "I love you and I want to be with you always…" She smiled, hoping to let some of the fear slide away at least for a moment.
"Love me?" He questioned it, like there was no way such a feeling for him could be possible.
"Yes, I feel like I've loved you for a long time…though I'm not sure when I fell exactly." She grabbed his cool metal hand and held it to her face. "I don't want to be apart from you…even though when we aren't together my thoughts are filled completely with you."
"Winry…" Edward's voice was low and broken. How could he do what his father had done to his mother? How could he leave the woman that loved him so much behind…the woman that he loved?
"But you need to do what you have to do and I understand that…I'll miss you Ed." She dropped his hand and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. "But I have one more thing to ask of you…"
"What…is it?" Edward wondered as he moved closer towards her, his own arms coming up to wrap around her.
"Can I sleep with you?" She asked, as her sapphire eyes wandered to his amber ones.
"What?" He hissed, shocked by her request of such an act.
"I want to have you in a way no other girl could have you…I know it's selfish and unlike me…but I want to be more then your mechanic!"
"You already are!" He countered.
"But I don't feel that way." She whispered as her lips crashed into his. She wanted him more and more, an undeniable passion filling her.
And Edward's resistance crumbled as soon as her lips met his.
