A/N This idea came to me right after I watched camp rock. I hope you like it!

Thinking of You

Chapter 1

Since summer ended and Camp Rock, all I've thought about was Shane! We talked on the phone constantly and he sang to me a lot of time, but other than that he's busy. I understand that he's a rock star, but I wished that he wasn't so busy. We're not together, but he makes me feel like we are and that's what I like about him. Anyway, I'm not going to let this down, it's my first day of school and I have to pretend nothing happened this summer. Or nothing with Shane at least.

I sighed and looked at myself in the mirror. Regular maroon top, jeans, and boots. Yup, the regular me. But my hair, layered, actually nice. I guess bangs weren't my thing after all.

"Back to school. I hope Sierra won't ask about my summer, it would suck if she did." I said to myself and got my backpack and song book, and headed downstairs.

I met my mom downstairs in the kitchen and sat on the dining table, in front of my breakfast. I set down my bags and looked at the TV.

"Looks like Shane made hot tunes again, want me to make it loud?" Mom asked me as she sat down on the chair next to mine.

"No thanks, it's not like he's that important to me." I looked down to my plate and smiled. "Egg omelet again. Thanks mom." I smiled and dug into my food.

I can't think about Shane all day today, I don't want Sierra thinking I'm some kind of freak who only thinks about boys, even if she only thinks about school. I mean, I don't mind her asking me about Camp Rock, but I have to avoid all costs of talking about Shane. Right.

"Mitchie, don't say that. You had a great summer and I do recall seeing you and Shane kiss right before we left camp rock." Mom pointed out. She smirked and took a sip of her coffee beside her.

I felt my face heat up. "Ew, mom, not now." I scrunched my face and shook my head.

She was right though. I remember that day. It was the day we were leaving camp and I was talking to Caitlyn in her room.

--

"Caitlyn, gosh I'm going to miss you." I said as I hugged Caitlyn tightly.

"Don't worry Mitchie, I'll come visit you, after my move I mean." Caitlyn patted my back.

Caitlyn was moving houses once again, and I have no clue where, but just as long as she keeps in touch and comes back to camp rock next year, I'll be happy. She was the one friend who actually had the same interests as me rather than homework.

My tear streaked face smiled at Caitlyn as she tried to comfort me with making faces. I knew it wasn't forever, but it sucks leaving. I never experienced this much and I'll have to face Shane soon. Great.

"Come on Mitchie, stop it." Her voice cracked, but she kept strong and hugged me even tighter.

"Okay okay, but you better call or email me. Give me your address when you move." I told her as I let her go.

"Right, you can stalk me all you want. Ah, you're such a big fan." Caitlyn sarcastically said as she turned to her things.

"Hey, you know you like it. Yet I need your autograph." I stuck my tongue out and sat down on the bed next to Caitlyn's.

We heard the door open, thinking it was her roommate, but when we looked, it was Shane.

Shane. I guess it's time to deal with him.

"Hey." I said and got up from the bed.

He's just another guy to say goodbye to, but this is the one and only guy who probably liked me. Ah, this sucks.

"Can I borrow Mitchie for a sec Cait?" Shane asked with a serious face on.

"Sure, she's bothering me anyway." She laughed. "I need to finish packing."

"Thanks." I rolled my eyes to Caitlyn.

I side eyed her as she grinned widely.

It's not like that!

I went to Shane and he took my hand.

"Follow me." Was all he said and I did.

Next thing I know, I find myself to the spot where he sang and played Gotta Find You to me. What's he thinking?

We stared at the lake for a bit. Of course awkwardness, I mean, how else do you break it off to a girl that you can't really have anything other than friendship. It was just a fling anyway. A summer fling.

"Mitchie," Shane started.

I held my breath. I need to get ready.

"You're such a good girl; I hope you had fun this summer."

I smiled. "I had a lot of fun, minus the drama, and it was nice having the summer I always wanted."

"Good." He looked so unsure, it was kind of cute.

"Yeah, and I noticed you're not much of a jerk after all." I smirked.

He laughed. "Well, you weren't much of a jealous girl either." He looked to me. "Which brings me to this."

I sighed. Here we go.

"What?"

"I like you Mitchie; you're sweet and reminded me of what I was missing in life." Shane started off and bit his lip.

Just say it!

"I don't know how to tell you-" He started but I cut in.

"It's okay Shane, I understand, you have your famous life and I have yet to finish my sophomore year in high school." I smiled.

"But I still want to keep in touch with you." Shane added as he put a hand on my shoulder.

"Me too. You're a really nice guy; I hope you let a girl, other than me, to see the real side of you." I said and pursed my lips.

I could feel my throat tighten and my eyes well with tears. Another good bye, but this is different. The perfect guy is going to be gone and I'm letting him go. Why do I have to be such a nice girl?

"I don't think there will be." He said under his breath, but I could catch what he said.

"I should go back." I told him and he nodded.

His hand dropped to his side and I started walking when he said my name.

"Mitchie."

I looked back at him and he walked to me. Once he was in front of me again, he cupped my cheek and looked me deep in the eye.

"Thanks for the great summer and I hope we meet again." He said and with that, he leaned over and kissed me.

My eyes widened to the kiss, but slowly closed as I wrapped my arms around his waist. I kissed him back, not wanting to let him go. I just want it to be me and him right now. I'm going to miss him.

As we parted, I blinked back a few tears which managed to let loose and looked down. My first kiss by Shane Gray.

"Mitchie, it's time to go!" My mom's voice shouted from afar.

"I better go now." I told him and looked at him one last time and saw a smile on his face.

"Yeah, you should." He said.

I started walking again, but he called me one last time.

"I have a present for you." He said and took a small box from his side pack which lay on the ground near a tree.

"Oh." He gave me the box and kissed my cheek. "Call me." He said and I nodded.

I started walking back on campus and to my moms van. I saw Caitlyn, Tess, Peggy, and Ella saying bye to each other. I waved to them and they waved back as I turned to enter my moms van.

"Did you say bye to all your friends?" Mom asked.

I put on my seatbelt. "Yeah mom." I nodded and placed the present on my lap.

--

The present was a CD of him singing Gotta Find You and the both of us singing This is Me. Also his number, which I find funny because he was the one who called me. Got my number from his uncle who asked my mom for my cell phone. Go figure.

I got up from my seat and took my bag.

"Time for school mom." I kissed my mom's cheek and headed out of the house.

I started for school and put on my iPod, listening to Connect 3's newest album and felt good. I think this school year will go great.
