Woo Camp Rock!

Shane Gray met Mitchie Torres by the canoes after Final Jam, with the intention of giving her something even greater than an award – a kiss.

"Hey, Mitchie, right?" Shane said when he spotted the girl with brown hair and eyes, pretending to be oblivious.

"Haha, funny. Wow, it's cold out here," Mitchie said, stumbling over some branches in the darkness.

"Yeah, it is...you want my jacket?"

"Shane, you don't have to do that for me."

"But I want to," Shane simpered, holding out his hand.

Mitchie blushed in the darkness (though Shane didn't see), taking the hand.

She didn't feel awkward when Shane shrugged off his jacket and draped it over her; mostly because it felt right.

"Why thank you, Mister Gray," Mitchie grinned, kneeling down in a wobbly curtsy.

"Anything for mi'lady," Shane replied in a cheesy British accent before placing a brief kiss on her hand and leading her toward a canoe.

Mitchie laughed as they pushed the canoe into the water and jumped in.

"Okay, it's freaking frigid out here," Shane said.

"You can have your jacket back if - "

"Mitchie, chill, I'll be fine – I'm a fighter. Trust me."

"Okay, if you say so," Mitchie said, albeit slightly unconvincingly.

"Alright, since I'm freezing right now, I'm gonna need a distraction. I wanna know all about the real Mitchie Torres," Shane smirked a little as he rowed.

"Fair enough, fair enough. My full name is Michelle Elizabeth Torres...my birthday is September 4th...I have an older brother named Charlie, but I don't see him a lot because he's 20 and in college right now...gosh, I don't know, Shane. What do you want to know?" Mitchie giggled.

"I just wanna know one more thing."

"What?"

"Will you hug me?"

"Huh?" Mitchie laughed.

"What? You look like a good hugger!" Shane replied in a false defensive tone.

Mitchie just smiled and crossed to the other side of the boat, gently wrapping her arms around Shane's neck and letting her head fall into the crook of his neck.

Shane sighed and let is own arms encircle around Mitchie's slim frame. She smelled like vanilla and cinnamon, and it was driving him crazy that he couldn't just kiss her right then and there.

His patience would prevail, he just knew it.

Mitchie was doing far better inhaling Shane's cologne; she was perfectly content with letting him hold her all night long, forgetting that the rest of the world existed.

"Hey, Mitchie?" Shane asked abruptly.

"Hm?"

"This is a kinda weird question, but do you think that you could fall in love with me?" Shane said, a little sheepish.

"Do you want to know a secret?"

"Sure."

"I think I already have," Mitchie whispered into his ear, all traces of shyness or awkwardness gone from her voice.

Shane grinned before leaning down to kiss her, their lips touching lightly.

Mitchie was a little unsure of what to do – this was her first kiss – but it seemed to just come naturally. Everything seemed to come naturally when she was with Shane, though. Even breathing seemed easier.

With Shane's jacket to keep her warm, his arms to hold her close, and his lips to keep her own company, Mitchie didn't need anything else in the world to keep her happy.

She had Shane, and that was enough to last her a lifetime.
