Cue the Sun (Because I'm Tired of this Darkness)

Dark Pit held his forehead with his open palm. He sat on Pit's empty bed alone in the darkness.

There was nothing he could do.

He couldn't leave Pit now.

Not while the Angel of Light was in the hospital.

Dark Pit fisted his dark brown hair in his hand and tried his hardest to pull it out.

How had things gotten so out of hand?

The Angel of Darkness hated himself for allowing things to progress this way.

He wasn't supposed to be like this! Dark Pit argued within himself. He wasn't supposed to be so... So…

So wonderful.

Pit was never supposed to be so wonderful.

He was never supposed to possess perfect blue eyes that cut in to Dark Pit every time he looked into them.

Pit wasn't supposed to have such a beautiful smile that made Dark Pit's nonexistent heart leap.

Pit wasn't supposed to be so perfect.

So memorizing

So addicting

Dark Pit could feel his stomach twist as his thoughts turned to earlier today.

He didn't mean to stab the angel.

It was…

Just an accident.

The fallen angel slammed his fist against the mattress. He growled as something made his blood boil.

"This is pathetic." He muttered through clenched teeth. "He's nothing more than a waste of light. I can end him right now. No one will think twice." He stood up and walked to the door.

All Dark Pit came for was his heart.

Noting else mattered.

Not even Pit's smile.

Dark Pit opened the door, only to find Pit on all fours on the floor.

The Angel of Light was panting and bleeding all over the floor as his white wings fell loosely to the floor. Sweat bedded his forehead and his arms were shaking.

"Pit?" Dark Pit whispered. He sat on his knees and lifted Pit's chin with his thumb. "Pit… Wh-What?"

Do it now. His mind screamed.

Kill him now.

Pit suddenly looked up and fell into Dark Pit's arms, connecting their lips. He wrapped his arms around the black angel's neck and pressed harder into the kiss.

Dark Pit's grip on his bow tightened.

Kill Pit now.

Pit broke the kiss and whispered softly, "I love you." His sapphire eyes sparkled as he smiled and looked into Dark Pit's dark blue eyes.

"Uh…" Dark Pit breathed. He couldn't help the slight blush spread across his cheeks.

Kill him now!

"Pit…" Dark Pit took his empty hand and filled it with Pit's cheek. "What are you doing out here? You should be—"

But Pit simply kissed him again.

What are you doing? Kill him!

Dark Pit dropped his bow and cupped the other side of Pit's face. He ran his fingers through Pit's soft, brown hair and pressed deeper into the kiss.

He couldn't pull his hands away, but Dark Pit wished desperately to feel Pit's beating heart, so his black wings encased the Angel of Light and tugged him against Dark Pit.

There it was.

The fluttering against their chests caused Dark Pit to realize something.

He could never kill this angel.

He had played the fool.

Dark Pit smiled against the kiss as Pit whispered his confession again.

He had truly fallen.

And had no intention of ever rising again.
