Theme 059 – Gift

His very first gift to her had been for her birthday one year when he was still studying under her father.

Roy had snuck into town one day when Riza had been out back practicing her shooting, wanting to keep his little trip a secret. An hour later he came back with a triumphant smirk plastered on his face, pleased with the purchase he had made.

He still remembered the smile that lit up her face when he presented the pair of sapphire earrings to her a week later. Of course, he had never been more surprised nor had he ever blushed so much when she threw her arms around him and planted a kiss on his cheek, all while whispering a breathless 'thank you' in his ear.

They had their first kiss three months later on his birthday after he had placed the pocketwatch she gave him on the table beside his bed.

For ever year after, a gift to each other on their birthday was presented. A book, a necklace, cufflinks, and...a ring.

That was the year he had left to join the military.

When they met in Ishbal two years later, he couldn't help but feel a small flame of hope light up in his heart when he saw a flash of silver on a chain around Riza's neck.

Ten years later that ring was replaced with a wedding ring as they recited their vows at the alter.

Nine months later, as he held his little son in his arms, Roy turned around to kiss Riza and smilied at her lovingly.

She had given him the greatest gift of all.

A/N: HAPPY ROYAI DAY!! I've been wait for this day for MONTHS. I've had a countdown on my msn ...and I've been driving people crazy with my happiness today! :D I think people think I'm really weird because today is also the day that finals start...so, most people aren't in that great a mood.

Well, I've had this done for a while. I was orginally planning on doing all 100 Themes, but...I got lazy...so...I decided just to post one as my contribution for Royai Day! Anyway, once again, HAPPY ROYAI DAY EVERYONE!!
