Green eyes clash with blue. Red clashes with blond. Reno clutches at the gaping wound on Cloud's side. Feverish eyes meet tranquil ones. "Cloud…" Reno's voice quivers, and he clears his throat, stalling for time.

Cloud smiles softly, and his hand reaches up and brushes Reno's cheek. "I know," he says simply, and Reno grasps Cloud's hand, keeping a tight hold on it, as though willing his hand to be the lifeline Cloud so desperately needs.

As though reading his thoughts, Cloud gently pulls Reno to him, whispering in his ear, "Please, Reno. I can't go until you let me go." Reno's eyes fill, he and shakes his head stubbornly. "No, please! First Rude, then Tifa, then Cid… don't leave me here. Don't leave me all alone! I can't survive on my own!"

Cloud sighs softly, and presses something hard into Reno's hand. His hand is slick with blood, and his breath is ragged, coming in short pants, often sending trickles of blood out of the corner of his mouth. Reno grasps the object, and his eyes overflow, and he places Cloud's hand gently on Reno's heart, whispering, "Take it with you. It's yours."

Cloud smiles, and nods. Reno dries his eyes and stands up. "I'll miss you, Cloud. I really will." Cloud laughs, and gives Reno the gift of one last pure smile before Reno pulls the trigger of the pistol aimed at the middle of Cloud's forehead. Cloud jerks once, and passes calmly into the world of the dead.

Reno feels a tug in his chest, and knows that his request has been granted. He looks at the blood-slicked bullet Cloud pressed into his hand, and calmly loads it, the tremors in his hands slowing, finally halting. The bullet clicks into place, foretelling its use. The safety isn't even bothered with. Placing the barrel squarely on his temple, Reno pulls the trigger.

"There you are. I've been waiting." Reno squints, shielding his eyes from the bright light he is suddenly surrounded in. Cloud Laughs, and smiles. "You get used to it." Reno slings his arm around Cloud. "Hope it gets better." "I'm sure it will." Soft laughter echoes as two souls pass into a world of white shores, and beyond...

So there you have it folks, the most retarded shortest, useless-est RenoCloud one shot. Nobody will enjoy it, but oh well! Oh, and the first person to guess the movie reference in the last sentence of the story gets...um, a fanfic! No yuri or Mpreg. -shudders- You have to leave a reveiew to guess! XD
