Hi! It's me - I'm supposed to be doing a poetry project for school, writing an elegy. I just googled what the heck that is, and unfortunatly, I don't know anyone who died, so I'm having issues writing one. For practice, I tried a George one, and this is what came out, so I decided to put it here!
Thanks for reading as usual. If you don't like, don't read. CONCRIT welcome - especially since this is my first elegy and I have to write another one! Don't flame if you hate it. Thanks.
Disclaimer: Since when have I ever owned anything?!
Living Without You
In the beginning, we were two
It was me, always – always – protected by you
Fred and George; the Weasley twins
Together forever through triumphs and sins
It was always us, we, the two together
We swore we would be there for each other forever
Making our way through life's trials
Vowing to change the world through smiles
The battle came and changed our lives
Mine would continue; your death had arrived
We parted without any real goodbye
We never believed that either would die
You're gone now, it's just me alone
The difference between us is ground and stone
You're not here to finish my sentences or laugh with me
You've left me here; it's just George now, there's no more we
It's taken time, but I'm able to smile
I know that you'd want me to make my life worthwhile
It's only a matter of time before we're Fred and George once more
Why not live, and enjoy life, like I did before?
There are essences of you wherever I turn
I find them everywhere; and while they make my heart burn
I'll move on the best I can
With the knowledge that we'll be together again
I've read some insanely amazing Fred and George poems, and I know that this isn't one of them. Sorry. But, hey, I tried!
As always, thanks for reading!
