The first time Kamina stops Simon from being bullied Simon can only watch the older boy with eyes wide with awe. As the years go by he comes to realize that knowing Kamina and being friends with him is often more trouble than peace, but they are brothers, and nothing would make him regret the association.

And then Kamina dies. The pieces of his world were crashing around Simon, and he has no desire to go on.
