Maybe We Really Were Meant to Be
It was nighttime. Almost midnight as a raven-haired young man stalked through the gates of Konoha. He had pale skin and coal black eyes that would sometimes turn red. It was the first time he had set foot in Konoha since he was 12 years old.
The 20 year old man was now walking towards a certain house. Sakura's house. He remembered the night he had left the village clearly. She had poured her heart out to him and had proven to him that she cared. He thought that now would be a good time to return her love. He just hoped that she still loved him and that she could forgive him.
As he walked up the steps to her house, he was slightlynervous. He didn't know what to expect. For all he knew she could have moved on already. He prayed to god that was not the case. Slowly, he walked up to the door and knocked. After a few minutes of waiting, he knocked again, only harder. Soon, he heard a soft rustle come from inside. The door opened and he stood face to face with Sakura.
"Sasuke? Sasuke is that really you?" Sakura said softly.
"Yea, it's me… Sakura." Sasuke said
"May I come in?" Sasuke asked hopefully.
She nodded her head and let him in. She was curious as to why he was here.
"Why are you here Sasuke?"
He had apologized for waking her up at such a late hour and told her that he needed to tell her something that was very important.
"I wanted to tell you that I'm really sorry for what I've done to you, for how much pain I caused you." Sasuke said apologetically.
"Was it worth it Sasuke?" Sakura asked.
"….No…. it wasn't. You were right Sakura. I didn't feel satisfied at all after I had killed Itachi."
"I see…"
"Sasuke… about what you said before, did you really mean it?"
" Sakura… if I didn't mean it I wouldn't have said it."
Sakura gave him a small smile and wrapped her arms around his neck. He returned her embrace and smiled a bit himself.
"Sakura… there's also something else I wanted to tell you."
"What is it?"
"I-I love you. More than anything."
"I love you too…Sasuke."
Slowly, Sasuke leaned toward Sakura and hesitantly placed his lips on hers. What started out as gentle and slow become hot and passionate. Sakura broke the kiss and pulled Sasuke into her bedroom. She pulled him down onto the bed and cuddled into his chest. Sasuke gave her a sweet kiss on the lips and then on her forehead before he wrapped an arm around her waist and buried his face in the crook of her neck.
Sakura woke up the next morning to an empty bed.
"Was it all a dream?" Sakura asked herself out loud.
"No." A voice came from the door.
She turned her head and saw Sasuke with a small smile on his face.
"Wow, Sasuke is so hot when he smiles." Inner Sakura said.
"Yea, I know. Wow, we're lucky."Outer Sakura agreed.
She ran to him and wrapped her arms around his neck while his wrapped around her waist. Sakura leaned up and placed her lips on his for a short, sweet kiss.
"You know what Sasuke?"
"What?"
"Ever since you left, I've always felt like we were never meant to be." Sakura said.
"Sakura…"
"…I guess I was wrong."
When Sakura looked up at him she was startled. She had never seen any emotion in his eyes until now. She could see that he really was sorry and that he really did love her more than anything.
"Maybe we really were meant to be." Sakura said.
"I love you Sasuke." Sakura said.
"I love you too Sakura. I always will." Sasuke replied.
