Uhm, this is purely expiramental and so if it sucks or seems like its lacking a clear plot, well, the blame is right here (points to self). Truthfully, I'm just trying todo anything but homework right now. So..enjoy I guess. If its even possible!

"You know, Sasuke, we missed you a whole lot..."

drip drip

"...Hah, that's obvious though since Sakura and I spent so much time looking for you and..."

drip drip

"...and now. Now? Now I think I'm beginning to regret all of that time I spent training to get you back; all that time I could've been focusing on becoming Hokage and now it's gone."

drip drip

"I mean, I still care about you more than I do with other people. You were, no, are..."

drip drip

"...are you still my best friend? Is that even possible? With the way things are now I don't-I don't even know...I don't even know anymore."

drip drip

"It feels like I made the biggest mistake of my life, Sasuke."

Naruto looked at Sasuke. He looked at him, lying unresponsive on the hospital cot, with his IV dripping in harmony with the rain outside. The prospect of Sasuke being back surely was too good to be true, that much was certain, and it seemed to Naruto that that statement rang true in so many ways. Sasuke was back but then he wasn't and that pissed Naruto off.

Tsunade had told him that Sasuke was unlikely to wake up anytime soon, and this time Naruto was just too exhausted to give the benefit of the doubt. Physically and mentally, he was tired of it all.

Was all of this a waste of time? Going to fetch the Uchiha and then have him remain asleep? Would it have been the same if he'd just let him go from the beginning?

He sighed and ran a hand over his face. Naruto got up off the chair he was sitting in and took one last glance at the man on the bed and walked out of the door, running into Sakura.

"Naruto! You just got done visiting Sasuke? Has he given any signs of wakening?" she asked.

"Actually, Sakura, I think I'm done with all of this...I'd like to sit here and wait for Sasuke to wake up every fucking day, but I've got better things to do, to be honest. And I'm not joking around either. I'm finished with Sasuke."

Sakura looked at Naruto who had just uttered so many things he wouldn't normally. She blinked a few times in surprise at his retreating back and slowly walked into Sasuke's room, wondering if he was being serious.

'I'm finished with Sasuke." She thought about his last words since he passed her in the hallway. They had such a serious ring as he said them; even Naruto wasn't that good at acting. No, he had to be telling the truth. She sighed as she decided on asking Naruto about it after her shift and opted to check Sasuke's vitals. The blanket suddenly shifted and Sakura dropped her clipboard, rushing to Sasuke's side.

Outside of the hospital, Naruto was walking with a new vigor. He had just taken off a hefty load off of his shoulders and felt like a new man.

Inside of the hospital, Sasuke had just woken up. He was looking around groggily, trying to get a handle of his surroundings and to Sakura's surprise and dismay, whispered a name belonging to the boy who had just been there.

"...Naruto?"

Ah, yes, well that was a weird experience! If you don't get it, even after trying to draw your own conclusions, Naruto had just decided to give up on Sasuke, much like Jiraiya did with Orochimaru. BUT Sasuke decides to wake up from his comatose state as soon as Naruto does this and doesn't know about his lack of best friend and calls out his name. I tried to make it ironic, really, I did! I can't help but think I failed though...ahahha. Any constructive critiscm would be good...--
