Disclaimer: As the great Link once said, "... ... ..."

AN: This is set during Twilight Princess, right after Ilia becomes an amnesiac. I (and I know I'm not the only one) was really annoyed by Ilia and her Epona fixation, or just Ilia in general throughout the entire game. Even so, I couldn't stand to see her as an amnesiac. Can't tell you why, but it bothered me more than her normal self. So, here's a drabble about it!

Link was dumbfounded, flabbergasted, and beginning to doubt his own senses. He stood stock still, frozen in place despite the scorching sun of Kakariko Village, as his mind feverishly worked to somehow place what he just heard.

"Oh, and the name of your horse is... Epona, right?"

It was one thing for Ilia to forget her own name, or him, her cherished childhood friend; but for her to forget Epona?! Though he knew he was the hero, the one who had to keep pushing bravely on no matter what happened, Link couldn't help the doubt that started to swell in the back of his mind. Ilia. Forgot. Epona. It was impossible.

For as long as Link had known her, Ilia had held an almost unhealthy obsession with his horse. The girl ate, slept, and breathed Epona.

If she couldn't even remember her dear horse-friend's name, if the only reason she knew it now was that the other kids had told her, all hope was lost...

AN: Yep. Ilia forgetting Epona is nothing short of an omen of the apocalypse.
